ive just fitted new reclining buckets in my zed, ive utilized the original frames as best as possible but had to use brackets to get over problems with the base of the seats

now they seem a little bit to high and my head is level with the rear view mirror.

any fitted new seats who can give me any pointers?

cant give you any pointers but, my recliners sit higher too. ive got milimetres spare when i put my helmet on!! to be honest, i like the "highness" it makes me sit more up right and i feel so much more incontrol:)

The stock leathers definitely sit lower, mine is a Recaro edition and they deffo used to sit higher than the leathers I have on now and the leathers slide further back too.

its because on the standard seats, all the motors and framework is inside the bottom of the seat, i tried to combat it as best i could but i still had to raise them ever so slightly because some of the workings sit a little higher

overall about an inch.

but my new seats are so much stiffer you dont slide into them like the priors so you sit higher instead

I went to a lot of work to make sure mine sat low as possible to make sure I have plenty of helmet room, lower CG and becuase I generally prefer a lower position. My first attempt involved using stock Manual zed seat runners with welded brackets, but I was'nt happy with the height.

I ditched the stock runners and bought some universal "low height" runner, a lot of the seat manufacturers sell these and you can find them in Demon Tweeks..etc.

I then cut the front and rear parts of the original runners (the parts that actually bolt to the floor), and welded them onto the new runners at the highest point on the runners, so they literally sit flat to the floor.

My seats use Side mounts, so they are then set on their lowest setting also. Im 6ft 2' and now sit lower than the lowest setting possible on stock seats.

any pics lagrath?

I did buy some universals and they're still in the boxes although after trial fitting them i couldn't get the mounts any lower.

The stock runners are actually quite low already but so i couldn't get the seat to attach to the runner i had to add some fabricated brackets. i dont have a welder so couldn't have a crack at that, instead i used a grinder to shrink everything i could :)

I dont have any pics, but I got to remove seat soon to do some other work so will take some then.
