Can I leave my car connected to a mains trickle charger while it's in my garage over the next month or so and do I have to disconnect the battery from the car?

I was worried it might damage something and have always disconnected paranoia as usual . Any recommendations for safe relaible chargers for this purpose? solar ones look a good idea but do they work

the voltage they deliver to the battery is very low so wont damage anything. The one we use come in the carcoon package so not really sure one to suggest for just trickle charging.

The voltage will always be 13.8v (12v) its the current that changes.

I was recomended the CTEK Multi XS 7000 (12V) Car Battery Charger. so I have one :-)

I have the CTEK one too - it was rated very highly by Autoexpress.

I also have the CTEK charger and it's excellent. I've hard wired the two terminals to the two battery terminals, so all I have to do is connect the CTEK charger to the connector hard wired to the battery and I'm off. Totally hassle free and no more flat battery after a couple of months without use.
