Interested to know about what you think of your systems... Rowan

Over in Holland I was told it's 14.7psi to 1bar. (I used this in order to set-up my AVC-R)... is this correct... After reading pages such as "http://robrobinette.com/boost_avc_r_install.htm vvvv" and seeing ... "the conversion to PSI is 14.22:1 NOT 14.5 or 14.7 or anything else." it makes me wonder. I assume 1Bar in the UK is the same as 1Bar in Japan and the US! Jez!

Well, another issue has surfaced. Since I fitted the ECU I noticed that the speedo dies below 10mph and sits there until you gain speed and the needle catches up again. Is this run by the ECU?

Hi thanks for the reply to the previous post, I have now managed to get it to leak again with the under guard removed the engine temperature comes up and stays normal without rising, even when stationary (the electric fan cuts in) so I think the thermostat is probably functioning as well as the electric switch. However I can now see water dripping onto and running down the passenger side intercooler/pipes. Am I right in thinking that the one radiator hose returns along the bottom of the rad to the passenger side of the engine, or could this still be the pressure relief valve and if so how do you find it/ check it. The amount of water loss was about 1 fluid ounce after …

Well, I finally took the plunge and bought a pair of Focal 5" subs to see if I could get some decent sounds in the back of a 300ZX and still keep enough space for a suitcase! (in case I take a repeat trip to Italy with the other half this year). I'm hoping that despite their small size, they will actually make some noise - if not, that's £300 down the drain.....................will keep you guys posted!

Hi, I don't know if anyone else has experienced this but here goes, I took the car out for a spin (Nice Weather), and just before arriving home I noticed the temperature gauge start to rise awfully quick and made it home just as it passed "H". Having looked at the car I can see signs of water/anti freeze around the passenger side wheel arch and under the car on that side. It took about four pints to refill the system. Today I got the car warm and took it to the garage around the corner and put it up on the ramp removed the underguard and studied the car but there is no sign of a leak today. Does anyone have any ideas? Cheers

Anyone know how to diagnose which wheel sensor is faulty, so I can get rid of this damn warning light, its begining to bug me although it is useful as a reading light when its dark:-) Cheers

My speakers are rasping like hell so are obviously buggered after 10 years of listening to Rolf Harris's 'Two Little boys' at Full volume. What stock speakers can I buy from somewhere shite like Halfords as a direct replacement? I'm not a MAX Power reader so I'm not too bothered about shaking the windows, just want raspless Rolf! Simon

BTW Nico, ran the ECU diagnostic before and after and got 55 (All is well) so looks like there is nowt wrong. I Would still appreciate it tho if someone would look in the user manual and let me know if it says owt about the power light flashing once you fire the car up. Simon

I managed to fit the ECU tonight and got the lot done including jets before it got dark. ECU was easy despite having to remove an HKS SLD that was fitted for me when I got the car. Pretty easy though as the fitter had used connectors to reverse the job easily, good man. What a bastard getting the old hoses off though! Christ my knuckles have no skin left! So all fitted up, test all clamps and hoses, drop the lid, put tools away, wash hands, lock door. Spark car up, all well and good. Roll car onto road take it very easy till the car warms up then head towards the M3. Hit lights just before motorway. Goes Green, hit the loud pedal. JESUS CHRIST ON A BIC…

Took my Z to the Nissan dealer today to get my ACT clutch fitted. Unfortunately some manifold bolt sheared off, so they had to drill it out. The result is, my Z won't be ready until tomorrow- they lent me a Micra 1.0; somebody please shoot me! :o(

And where can I get a good deal? I would want them to be fully tested, I do not want the chance of installed a faultly injector? Advice please.

(Forget the price - for now) After speaking to Steve, one is deeper and the other has a wider intake, but could be blocked slightly by the stock 300 intercooler intake holes. Any proven results?

Fellow JWT'ers. If I have stock gauges and the JWT/POP upgrade should I avoid full boost for prolonged times? What other cautions should I take? This is my only transport at the moment so I don't want to feck it!!! Is an HKS Super Drager/JWT+Boost jets a stage 2 or 3? Simon Pass
-
It says in the destructions for the POP ugrade that comes with the JWT that "The boost must be checked with an accurate gauge to determine whether the boost pressure is in the range (12-14lbs). If the boost is too high 'Ping' or detonation may occur Jets can be ordered to correct high or low's" Question. Should I get my boost checked after install? If so, who knows a boost gauge owner in the Berks area? Simon (Ecu sat on desk waiting for Saturdays spanner session!!!!!!!)

I'm thinking of ordering some parts for my Z. If anyone has used SGP what did you think?? Also, does anyone know the temperature limit on nissan pads and discs? I'm asking because my front passenger side pad has cracked and scored the disc big time!! Thanks, Trey.

This morning I started the car after it being idle for 2 days. Rather than starting first click as usual it took a few throws to start and then fired and less than all cylinders for a few minutes. It was OK after it got moving. This is not the first time this has happened. It had a 3000 mile service last thursday and had new plugs at the last 12000 service. Any ideas on this. Fouling plugs? Was OK on the way home tonight. Spooky! Simon P.S. Got card from posty, chip at post-office. One day it will get to me!!!!!!

Did anyone go to North Weald yesterday? If so what times did you do? I was there very late and one guy in a red 300 "A12XTT" ran a 13.6 making him at the time the fastest 6 cylinder. Is any body going to the Pod this Sunday?
-
Does anyone find that their idle speed goes up a bit (about 1000+rpm) after a run in this weather ? Mine did on Sunday after 60 miles but was back to 750rpm this morning. Cheers William

Hi people, i just want to say, i'm glad i have a Z when the weather is like this. I was out enjoying the sunshine, and even managed to spot a couple of Z's on my travels :-) Not that i do that sort of thing regularly ;-) Even my kids wanted the tops off, (they normally moan about it being cold), and they are also turning into Z spotters.. lol I saw a Red import at Epsom on sunday, and i am sure i should have started a conversation with the guy standing at the ice-cream van, something about the way he was pointing at my front lights sort of gave it away :-) Hairsy, i sure i saw you on the M25 about 8:30pm sunday, going the opposite way to me somewhere b…

Hi, Anyone tell me the location of the ABS control unit on my Z (its an import not sure if this makes a difference), it is rumoured to have a flashing LED that will tell you the duff sensor after the car has been driven above 20 MPH. Does anyone know the error codes or if this true. Ta

Hey All, I am going to start this weekend on making up a strut brace for the rear of our little monsters, and am able to make them with carbon fibre tubes as opposed to the normal chromoly tubes. The upgrights would be cast alloy, and the bar would be carbon fibre tube (unpainted of course), rose jointed at either end and therefore adjustable. Will be designed to be as "kind" to the rear strut tower trim pieces as possible. Target price 100.00pounds + shipping Expressions of interest ?
