Well, just thought id drop you all a quick message to say im off Wed about 1100 to Afgan. :cry: Will try and get on over there. Will be back in Sept so get the beers ready and are there any meets then as i will bring the Zed back for a blow out. Actually got to drive a Jap TT today and was amazed how different the ride felt handeling wise to my UK TT.... Firstly the Jap TT was lower to the ground than mine and also the damping felt much softer.... Steering also felt really weird too, difficult to explain but it didn't feel as quick or responsive as mine on turning it in... Both my car and this one are running on 18" wheels and same width tyres...

Right then, wanting to do some tests on the new engine before it goes in. Main one being a compression test. So want to rig up a flywheel, gearbox and starter motor. So, even a knackered gearbox will be ok. If anyone reasonably local to me has one I could borrow for a week, I'd be really grateful. Thanks

just been looking through all the bumph that the solicitor sent me, when he eventually got my land registry done (6 months late :rolleyes: )and realised they have sent me the deeds to my house :shock: so according to my mortage advisor the bank dont have any way of proving that i i have a mortgage with them as ive got the deeds lol

After the success of Ferrybridge, How about a UK Annual meet. Dont know if its been done yet but I think Ferrybridge is the biggest collective of Zeds ever. :) So it got me thinking about how good a full UK meet would be. Dont know if it'd be possible, but sort of summertime. I know the JAE is on and most will go to that, but this would be at a different date and would be Zeds only. I *believe* Sheffield *ahem* is in the centre of the country, fortunately for me :) Theres a HUGE car park that the M1 flyover looks down on, so we could see about getting that. Make a day of it and get Zed traders stands, burger vans etc. If another location was picked …

well i finally finished the fitting and wiring of my fiam ferrari airhorns today.. had to wire the new relay in right, finally found its a positive switched horn so wired relay up, attatched to compressor and battey, put in inline fuse and then got someone to press horn in car... fookin deaf now!! i didnt realise they would be so damn loud!.. gonna take me originals off in morning and tidy cable runs up. but at least they are in and working!

Stopped off this evening to fill up with Optimax. Everything seemed ok- pulled out down the road. Changed 1st - 2nd and 2nd - 3rd fine. Then I went to change to 4th, and it just didn't want to engage. So I changed down to 2nd, back to 3rd, went for 4th and had the same problem! Started thinking about the clutch- only had it about a year, and even if it was screwed could it prevent higher gears from engaging whilst allowing lower ones? Seems unlikely so I discounted that. Which only really leaves the gearbox itself. :cry: ... Had one more go, with a bit more force and heard a strange kind of soft crack. Then I looked down and realised tha…
