grr, im typing this on my old PC. the PSU of my current PC just went pop! noticed a toxic burning smell yesterday afternoon and managed to sniff it down to the PSU - specifically the rear of the PSU. noticed the fan wasnt rotating so switched it off and then went out for new years. started her up today after tinkering a bit and the fan still wasnt going round (a 3-month-old Antec 500W!) so thought id just check my email and look at the website that i bought it off to try and sort a replacement when POP the thing died. im really hoping that the components survived (the trip box downstairs tripped out so hopefully that might have caught the surge before it did any more …

i tried to send a message to an admin but got no reply so i am posting this message here for simon and his family as he is part of this club i believe unfortunately the new year isnt going to plan. at about 9pm onwards new years eve, simon collapsed in the house and an ambulace had to be called, it seems at this time he may have suffered a mini stroke, until he gets scanned we do not know yet. Its also possible he suffered a bout of food poisoning also he spent that night in a stroke unit in nevill hall and after check was released the next day due to scan not being able to be done for some time. He is now resting comfortably and is regaining movement …

It has been ridiculously windy here today, few moments ago it seemed like the whole place went "THUNK"..
