Ok, at the moment, i work as an employed temporary worker, for a recruitment agency. :rant: I am led to believe i would be better off being a sub- contractor for them + being self employed,as i could then claim my fuel + tool parts back then? Does anyone know if this is correct? and if so, how do i go about it? :confused:

The mrs has been looking for her car insurance. We tried two different comparison sites, £330 + £475,same cover.This gobsmacked us.We expected maybe a few £'s difference, so we tried 5 'comparison' websites in total. The cheapest prices we got were £330, £475, £425, £360 .........then £155.O.k., legal expenses was another £22, so £177. But £153 saved in a quarter of an hour.Brilliant, :hyper: i've only ever bothered with one site before now. :slap:

Yes, as we all know, funkysi has complete and utter dis-interest in Christmas. Since we've also had such a lame summer, thinking about getting away for a few weeks over xmas. Possibly UAE, although probably would not stay in Dubai as I know of a little place down the coast called Khor Fakkan which I stayed at a few years ago. Very very quiet, but very nice. Flights are devilishly cheap at the moment for that period which is quite surprising. Anyone else been to the UAE over Xmas at all? Anyone going away this Christmas?

After years of prevaricating on the subject of carputers, I've finally got one sitting in front of me. Being a bit of a Luddite when it comes to electrickery, I have to ask the following question: I want to power it up to install everything that needs installing and to generally check everything is ship shape. I'd like to do this out of the car as the cage mount I'm making isn't finished yet. It came with a cigarette socket adapter to power it, set to 19V...Is it safe to use a standard AC/AC adapter (output 9VAC) to power it up from the mains socket? If not, what do I need to get to be able to plug it into the mains? Cheers, Leigh.

You have no idea what a thirtsy car is till you have owned an Impreza STI! I thought my modified Zed was about as bad as cars got for fuel economy but how wrong one can be! My Scooby must go through fuel quicker than an Apollo space rocket! I just wish V-power would come back down to a half realistic price again.
