I'm an avid watcher of TV cookery programmes but no-one I've seen has managed to trump my roasties yet, so I thought I'd share my method and ask you about yours. 1) There can be only one! (potato). The mighty King Edward. Forget the rest. 2) Peeling. Very important, this. Don't merely scrape the skin off. Take at least 2mm depth of peel off. If you cut a potato in half and look at the cross-section, you'll see a white-ish layer just below the skin (usually). We want to get rid of it. Cut the potatoes into halves (thirds or quarters if big to start) and place in a pan of cold water to which a big pinch of salt has been added. 3) Whatever roasting tin/tray yo…

*WARNING* Some may find these pics graphic! The Hippopotamus has always been seen as a slow moving, lovable, water wallowing, creature. The following pictures show just how dangerous the Hippo really can be, especially when protecting young or territory. The following pictures show a Hippo attack a Zebra, a Dog and an Antelope, clamping down with a vice-like grip on to its victims head.

It seems to be a pretty much a top subject in the news at the moment. As some of you may seen, the current government has decided not only to go against the long term agreement of a yearly pay increase that matches the rate of inflation (3%) every september, but also not back date the pay increase. Most will probably guess what my reaction to this is, given my current choice of employment, but im curious to what you guys think about it all. Please dont comment about the whole subject of whether police officers should be able to strike or not, which to be honest, will never happen. Nick

An onlooker was amazed at their hard work, but couldn't understand what they were doing. So he asked the hole digger, "I'm impressed by the effort you two are putting into your work, but I don't get it why do you dig a hole, only to have your partner follow behind and fill it up again ?" The hole digger wiped her brow and sighed, "Well, I suppose…
