Any Homer Simpson fans in the house: Finally, (back to cars again), here's one for anyone who's on the beer (or stronger!) tonight: Your turn........

Had a rubbish week with our cars:mad: On monday karen phoned me at work to say Jag wouldn't start. (04 x-type 2.0 Diesel Sport). Was completely dead with some weird fuel data error message on screen. We have had it for about 15 months and done about 10,000 miles and never put a foot wrong before. After eventually getting breakdown people out (another boring story), they couldn't fix it cos it needed plugging into diagnostics & tugged it to a jag specialist in croydon where it now lies. Anyway they had a quick look at it and got the fault codes. One of three things. A break in the loom; faulty instument panel; or ecu. its gonna take hours to trace. They can't eve…

That peeps might find interesting! The old man just paid his property suma (Council Tax)-170 euro for the year! His car tax was 70 euro for the year, this I think depends on the car etc,as the Mitsi I bought cost 22 euro for the year! Insurance for the Mitsi for the year 219 euro! Four of us had a 3 course Steak dinner last night with drinks 56euro,about £40! The things that are expensive here are second hand cars (but can be found cheaper!) and fines!-they are designed to hurt, unlike the UK where the fine is cheaper than, say, Insurance. Oh!-I put some juice in the car today, 20 euro worth and got half a tank-haven't seen that for a while!:) So how's th…

I posted a little while back that I might get a Hilux Surf. I borrowed it for the trip to Dover and TBH I am not very impressed with the bloke. He told me it does around 30-35 MPG (3.0 TD) It cost me £80 there and back (150 miles) and I didnt go over 2500 RPM either way. He said the speedo was KPH as its an Import. I nearly got caught out and realised just in time that 80 on the clock was in fact 80 MPH it is hard to tell when you are up so high LOL. and when going round a round a bout the wheels screech. Its a '97 and he wants £2500. So anyway I have decided to go with my original idea and get a Stagea. I drove John Fuggles one. (the first picture in my JAE pics li…

We bought a 206 for the wife, but the tool we bought it from neglected to inform us that he had lost the locking wheel nut socket. As a result we managed to get three off and replace them, but the front drivers one will not budge. We spent the whole of yesterday trying to remove it, hamering a socket on and trying to twist it, but it wouldn't budge. We split four sockets and wrecked a load of others, we had to hammer the head of it down with a chisel and then smash a socket on to it each time but it just wouldn't move. I got my dad to drop it in to a couple of garages today, one tyre place worked on it for an hour or so and gave up, they took it to another …
