my GTR goes in for the winter and to have work done on it. all suspension, diff and everything else will be taken off to restore. Anyway i have been looking at a build on the GTR club and tried to get some answers on what they treated the car with but no one gets any answers (AS USUALL:headvswal ) so any input from you guys would be great. the main thing is what to treat the rust with before painting (arms, drive shafts, anti roll bars) and then what to paint them with. Also they seemed to remove the nuts and bolts and cleaned them and painted them gold any ideas what this is. On my escort TD I have (i think ) a large boost leak that makes a whooshing sound that can be heard in the cab quite loud. The faster the turbo spins the louder the noise gets. I'm not loosing any oil or coolant that is noticable , power is down and the vehicle is not smoking at all so I'm guessing the turbo housing aint cracked or owt. I have checked the large pipe going to the plenum and put new jubilee clips on it. Could the turbo be knackered and not leak fluids also do the plenum thingies have gaskets that could go or any othe pipes? Not overly concerned as it's a bit of a shed anyways but would like to run it til it's next mot time.

Mad I know..... ....but I woke at 3am today to answer a call of nature (must be my age. Or the beer:p) and whilst in the bathroom with the lights off, I noticed an eerie blue/white glow through the patterned glass. Can't be snow I thought; so (once finished, of course) I went into the back bedroom and looked out of the window, only to see my garden dusted in the white stuff. Sitting watching wheeler dealers at the moment, episodes with the lancer delta. Just seen mike to the brakes/discs/bushes/traction rods..........and well feel i got a good insight to the brakes, seems pritty straight forward, but suppose he does have a good car lift to get it off the ground etc. But overall i enjoyed watching that and its made me kind of want to tackle my own brakes, change the discs and pads. Could a change of discs and pads be good enough for stopping power rather than going fo rthe bigger calipers?

This is supposed to be the fastest amphibious car in the world, it certainly looks it.
