How bad are our roads at the moment - my local council still has outstanding repairs to do following last winter's cold spell so now they're worse than ever. I'm so pissed off clattering over poor road surfaces that I'm having to take a longer route home from work every evening just to avoid fooking up my car. I've only had my new SLK 3 months and already it's needed a trip back to MB because the steering wheel suddenly found itself off centre. Seems the shitty roads have affected the wheel allignment - which cost me almost £200 to have adjusted. Warranty won't cover that either as technically nothing is damaged, broken or worn; it's something that would sometim…

Got a bit of a technical problem with a s14a and thought perhaps someone might be able to help on here. The car has an apexi avc-r fitted to it and a hybrid fmic but otherwise the engine is standard and im struggling to set the boost controller up properly after it was reset - it intermittently holds back at about 4.5k and the boost is really hit and miss. Sometimes it pulls really well but yesterday a saxo was pulling away from it (which must have been modified cause it wasn't hanging about by any means). At idle it has the VVT rattle which goes away when you put it into gear and touch the throttle - could this be causing the power problems? Also - sometimes you can hear…

Getting my (vom) Corolla into gear can be a bit hit and miss - thought it was changing from driving the Zed (liked to rev it hard) to the non sporty gear box. However Marc also has problems at times and I think the clutch needs adjusting. Does anyone know if these cars have a hydraulic clutch? Got the number of a bloke who will cheaply adjust a clutch but says not if its hydraulic. Any ideas? God I hate this car

hi all i have had for some time now a ML 55AMG as my daily driver and work horse , it does 0-60 in about 6.5 and will get up to 140 + if allowed ...i would like a bit more grunt from the car if possible ..i have thought about a re map but feel more could be gained from a decent exhaust headers and intake system..anybody know anything about these ..it seems very indistructable and very understressed ...any of you boys running V8's have any ideas ?? cheers steve

I understand from Facebook and Z Club posts that Darrell has had a big accident, in a Merc, not the Z, which may have saved his life ! I know he doesn't come on here much now, but he was a long time member here, so I just thought I'd let people know that he is currently recovering, with quite a few broken bones, in Addenbrooke's Cambridge.

Hi i have had SKY Tv for a few years now, just the standard box and we just moved house, typically the box is now playing up, SKY want around £60 to fix it or replace it and that seems out of order to me. You can pick up standard SKY boxes off ebay for around £20 and I have seen one or two Sky +HD models for for around £35. Has anyone got any advice on what I should do. I did a self install at our new place so would it be worth my while cancelling all together and starting fresh again or just get another used box? I have heard loads are just tat though and it can be a can of worms. I would welcome some views on this I need to do something soon as I am getting tired of …

Unfortunately the girlfriend hit black ice tonight and put her 207 into the ditch causing a fair amount of damage but she was fine thankfully. Now when it goes in to get fixed there should be a courtesy car coming out what's the chances of it being something decent I can give a good thrashing? Haha. Anyone ever had a half decent courtesy car?

Just found out one of my best friends and possibly the nicest person I've ever met has passed away. He was a Z mechanic and drove a Z for years and had become one of my best friends. The way I always described him was I was lucky to have a friend like him as he was the most genuine friend you could ever wish for and would drop what ever he was doing if you needed him without having to ask him. He was a proper old school stand up guy!!!! It just shows how you have to enjoy life, a couple of years ago he was fighting fit, then a few pains and then he's riddled with cancer. In one way I'm glad he's not suffering any more. Vijay

A few thousand years ago I would have been loaded I bought these two complete hoards from the far east (with export approval) i cant even start to say exactly how many coins I have here 14Kg one hoard and 7.5Kg the other. Im a bit of a history geek as I love anything old but decided to sell at least some of them on ebay as I could never clean these all in this lifetime LOL. http://www.crustyromans.com/plutus-hoard/ http://www.crustyromans.com/juno-hoard/

Just got an HD Sky+ box off someone, got no viewing card but there is a Sky dish on my house and its still live with a good signal as the bloke who came to move my Virgin Media box before xmas tested it for me and said it was still working. So, if I get a viewing card or expired Sky card (from where?), presumably I will be able to pick up any free to air satellite channels? Any advice please? Thank you!! :tt1:
