So here's an old joke.... A bloke is browsing in a pet shop and sees a parrot sitting on a little perch. It doesn't have any feet or legs. The guy says aloud "Bloody hell!. I wonder what happened to this parrot? The parrot says, "I was born this way. I'm a defective parrot". "Holy smoke", the bloke replies. "You actually understood and answered me!" "I got every word", says the parrot. "I happen to be a highly intelligent, thoroughly educated bird." "Oh yeah?", the bloke asks, "Then answer this - how do you hang onto your perch without any feet?" "Well", the parrot says, "this is very embarrassing but since you asked, wrap my wil…

Was up @ Silverstone today watching some serious drifiting  Did anyone else go to this event? Saw no zeds running, mainly 200sx's, BM's, a Scooby that spent most of its time spinning out and a few Corrolla's. Sadly no Zeds were taking part but I have seen fuzzy video footage of a zed doing some drifting, so it is possible. Spotted a red zed with cracked windscreen in the carpark and some guy with a silver zed handing out free copies of Evo. Had good day, but best of all my zeds run in so it's off to SE tomorrow to twist Pete's arm and get my boost set :D

http://www.auto-filmsdirect.co.uk I used these people for my Merc and Jeep, they were very competitive and efficient. £200+vat for an A Class, and that's 11 pieces of glass. After a few months there was a problem with some glue appearing on both rear windows of the Merc. Without hesitation they sent an engineer who replaced both rear opening tints and said that they had experienced a few compatibility problems with the felt pads on Mercedes and were now using a different glue. To avoid any future problems, and without me asking, they replaced the front opening tints at the same time. It is a pleasant surprise to get good service from a garage,…

Going to pick up the zed after my wheel-loss-tomfoolery the other week :D The wing has been changed and sprayed, the paintwork on the door and bumper has been touched up and blended, caliper replaced on drivers side and seal kit done on front calipers. Plus 17" V-Spec GTR alloys to fit - woohoo! :D:D:D Can't wait! Re my old alloys (16" split rims) - they are in good nick apart for the one which broke loose (alloy scrubbed all round inside, tyre knackered) - would it be worth refurbing them then seeing what I could get for them privately, or selling them cheap as they are? I think the scrubbing could be made good if refurbed. Any thoughts? Cheers P…

(To the young, sincere and uninformed: No, not all scientists are hallowed seekers or guardians of the objective truth. Remember the Wright brothers and Alexander Graham Bell. And don't make the mistake of thinking that a Ph.D. is a perfect reflection of a Platonic archetype in this, the real world. In fact, as Ayn Rand identified, because of the collapse of philosophy in the 19th century, science is following a similar, though slower, course in this century. This is as it must be, by the grace of reality, as philosophy is the fundamental, integrating science. Or, as Aristotle, the man responsible for the discovery of logic and, thus, of science, put it: Philosophy is the…

No I'm not selling the Z! But I am thinking about importing a '98 R34 GT-T. It would cost about £10.5k on my drive. Any comments gratefully received. Does anyone know if it can be easily (cheaply!) tweaked and by whom? Anyone have one? Anyone got any performance data?

It is with deep regret that I have to announce that one of our members has reached a landmark in his life. No longer will this person be able to dress fashionably, hold his beer or dance. he will walk around the shops eyeing up that new cardigan in the shop window , thinking , "hmm thats not bad actually", he will actually be made up to get sox , a comb and a pair of slippers for christmas. Buying new bits for his car will cause much grief as he is now old enough to know that the cash should really go towards that new lawnmower he promised himself. And just maybe that exhaust is getting a little to loud and it might be best to put the stock one back on. H…
