OMG! Headlights...again!
...if i use cornetto wrappers, will children follow me...?

OMG! Headlights...again!
Buy new headlights? s'pose I could...but it seems a very expensive way to sort out such a small problem...it's only the plastic reflective cones that are knackered. Was just hoping someone might know of a spray-paint that would spruce them up without melting in the heat.... I guess just replacing them will be easier :)

OMG! Headlights...again!
Hi, folks I have taken the headlights out of my Z (horrible job!), and I have fully dismantled them. The reflective cones behind the projector beam assembly are beyond cleaning - the silver has deteriorated beyond redemption. I have found several spray-paints that have a silver mirror finish, but won't take more than 50 degrees C. Does anyone know of a spray-paint that will re-silver them convincingly AND take the heat? Or has anyone got a set of cones? ....please don't make me use ice-cream cones lined with baking-foil...! :)

Full headlight dissassembly!?!?!
DOH! I did it!...turns out I am stupid. Who'da thunk it? Just a matter of un-screwing the right things. Seeing the pics in that second link ^^ showed me it was possible, so I persevered and finally triumphed. Thanks, Dave. ...now I just have to get the headlights back into the car....bleh :(

Full headlight dissassembly!?!?!
Thanks for that... but the first link shows only how to get into the unit, which I have already done :) ...and the second link shows the projector assembly removed - which is what I want to do - but doesn't say how he did it! Grrr! In all honesty, it's probably just me being stupid and missing the obvious...but any help with this would still be appreciated :)

Full headlight dissassembly!?!?!
Hi everyone :) I have just removed the headlights from my Z ... OMG THAT was fun...My knuckles look like corned beef! One of them had let in a little moisture (hence the removal), so I have done the hair-dryer trick and got the glass off and removed the grey plastic tray. No problem with that...However, the reflector dish behind the projector lens really needs cleaning. It is seriously mucky, and I would really like to take it out and give it a proper clean, rather than just dab at it with a cotton-ball on a stick, but I just can't figure out how to get the little ****er out! Anyone know how to do it? Cheers! :)

Sticking Fuel Pump...?
Hi, Folks. My Z has been off the road for a couple of weeks, and now she won't start. When I turn the ignition on, I can hear nothing from the fuel pump. This has happened before, but usually after a few attempts the pump kicks in and all is well. I'm fairly sure it's just the pump sticking a bit - I can hear the relays etc click - and tomorrow I'm going to try undoing the straps on the tank and giving it a little jiggle ('cause the pump lives in the tank) to see if it will loosen up. In the meantime, does anyone have any other suggestions as to why the pump may not be operating, and what I could try?? Much appreciated!

drip drip drip....
Thanks... That's what I thought, but I didn't want to get a kit/replacement bmc , and then find the booster and bmc shared fluid or anything... still learning.... cheers, m8

drip drip drip....
Hi, all. I recently posted that I was looking for a repair kit for my brake master cylinder. I now know where to get one (thankyou for the replies), and I've even been offered a replacement for the entire bmc (thankyou again). Before I buy one or the other (or both!), can anyone tell me if I am doing the right thing? The brake fluid seems to be leaking out from where the bmc mates with the booster....does this mean it IS something leaking in the bmc, or should there be a gasket between the bmc and the booster (there isn't one there at the mo - could it have rotted away?)? I'm assuming the seal at the end of the bmc is perishing, but I've had a look at it and it looks like new... Would appreciate any thoughts on the matter! Cheers!

Garages in Gwynedd...
cheers, steve - much appreciated. dave popped round and had a poke about for me. looks like its probably the hoses going into the block rather than the rad itself...and i think the pressure is at about zero; as soon as water goes in the top it falls out the bottom! if it is just the hoses, i should have it sorted soon. cheers, Andy

Garages in Gwynedd...
That's very neighbourly of you! How can I get my address/phone number to you? cheers, Andy

Garages in Gwynedd...
Hi everyone. My poor, poor Zed is weeing coolant all over my drive. I don't have the faintest idea where the leak is - could be a gasket or a hose or the heater matrix....no idea. I would like to take it to a garage, but I don't know who I can trust with my baby! Can anyone name a garage in Bangor, Gwynedd that has Zed experience? Alternatively, is there anyone in the local area who would be willing to come look at it for me? Willing to pay - espescially if I can learn more about the engine in the process. Thanx everyone, Andy

An oilpainting of 300zx!!
Hi. In reply to the last couple of comments... A painting of your car would cost around £120 - £150. For an oiplainting, that's a pretty good price, believe me. I'm trying to keep the price down for Z's - portraits sell for a lot more! Thanks for the kind comments. And my apologies for not being a fully subscribed member/trader - I was just trying to offer a service for anyone interested in a portrait of their Zeddy - I love mine so much I wanted to paint it, and I wondered if other owners might like something similar. I am charging a shedload less than for my usual work. But my apologies again. Anyone who is interested can contact me through my website. Andy http://www.andybrady.co.uk

An oilpainting of 300zx!!
Hello! I posted here a while ago, asking if anyone might be interested in an oilpainting of their 300zx. I now have an example of such a painting for those who may be interested. http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/31663518/ You can see the painting here^^ If you click on it, you will get a larger image (the quality of the photo of it is not great, though - sorry!). If you click on the words 'darker-monkey', you can see other work of mine on display at the Deviant Art website. Anyone interested in having a painting done of their 300zx in this style can let me know by replying to this thread, or by emailing me at info@andybrady.co.uk for a quote. Because it is a sample painting, the one listed above is for sale at a reduced rate - £100 +p&p. There will be another one soon! A painting of YOUR 300zx will not cost much more. What's more, it will be utterly unique. Thanks, Andy http://www.andybrady.co.uk

an oil painting of YOUR 300zx?
Hi folks. I wasn't really sure where to post this but... I am a uk based artist - I normally paint figures and faces, but I was wondering about doing a painting of my 300zx, 'coz I love it soooo much! I then realised that other Z owners might appreciate having an oil painting of their own ride to hang on their wall. I would really appreciate some feedback on this idea from anyone here who might be interested. To give you an idea of what my usual work looks like, you can visit my website: http://www.andybrady.co.uk (it can take a while to load - sorry!) There are no car paintings there (yet) but it should give you an idea of what sort of work I do. Normally a painting sells for between £200 to £400. If anyone is at all interested in having an oil painting of their car done in a similar style, then let me know! If interest is high enough, then I might consider doing a few. All I would need is a good photo of your car to get started, and I would do my best to keep the price down - maybe around £150? maybe even less for a smaller piece - I think we spend enough money at the fuel pumps! Anyhoo...I woulod be grateful for comments and feedback on this idea. thanx everyone! Andy
