Although saying it's anything to do with being proud of being British is kind of funny, surely wearing a crucifix is a Catholic thing predomanently, we aren't a Catholic country :p We are all a mix of immigrants, whether it be from 3000BC, 1932 or 2005.

I know exactly how you feel, I just want to hibernate over the winter, it gets dark 2 hours before i leave work and it's dark when I get up in the morning. December 21st, shortest day, we're almost turning the corner! Course then we've still got most of winter to deal with, maybe this isn't the right season to be trying to buy a RWD car :p

I've been searching the zed adverts for weeks now and not ONE of them looks particularly tempting. They find the absolute worst ways to take pictures, and as for how much information they include in their advert it's ridiculous. Good luck finding out if it's a manual or auto let alone whether it's an import.

I'm struggling with finances and finding the right car as we speak. Someone find me a low(ish) mileage, relatively untouched UK TT for 4k!

Thanks for the responses guys again very helpful (i'm starting to love this place) Funny someone should mention the idea of duke's of hazarding out a targa top, my mate was telling me about his ferrari 355 owning friend who had it garaged in such a small garage that he had to take the hard top off, half open the door and sort of hop over the sill. :o I have to say though, I'm going to super annoyed if the only reason I can't get my zed is because it won't fit in my stupid stunted garage :headvswal

Thanks for the diagram, I did actually look up the dimensions of the 300 and try to compare it to what car fits in there now and as much as I think it *might* just fit what I can't tell from dimensions is whether when it does fit if I could open the door and indeed get out :) Also do many zeds have foldable wing mirrors?

This is particularly pathetic but probably the most important factor of whether I get a Zed or not. I have no idea if one will fit in my garage, and if it does will I be able to open the door? Sad that my decision to buy comes down to this but unfortunately it's a breaker, I'm not parking one on the road most of the time. So I come to my ask, does anyone live in or near Canterbury that could swing into my garage and try it? I really don't want to put anyone out and I don't have much to offer other than a warm cup of tea but I would be eternally grateful and have a winning smile. :)

Eurgh, as happy as I am a turbo is cheaper than i ever imagined.. I still don't particularly want one. I've had the temporary euphoria of a cheap quote, only for it to rocket back up for an import. This sucks!

Well holy carp, I've just chatted to my new best friends at Elephant and they gave me various low quotes, way lower than anyone else. They even offered me £860 for a TT. That's about a quarter of what anyone else has quoted. And now I'm going to show off my embaressing lack of Z knowledge. They told me the last non turbo ZX's of UK spec were from 1990, any N/A car passed that is an import. This fact means the quotes are back up to £1400. Is this correct?

I want to say I appreciate peoples concern for driving such a powerful car after only a year of full driving experience but I'll say in defence of that I'm 25 and way older than my years, I'd respect the power of the Z more than you can imagine :) Also my wife would be with me most of the time and there is nothing in this world I would do to endanger her life.
