  2. well hi peeps thanks martin for starting this off. to say this one has been a pig is an understatement. oil in water first time. strip down and rebuild .100 miles later get water in no6 and snap a rod. another rebuild and back to oil in water. so the story goes... hell raiser im interested for sure. and as martin says we sure have enough bits to hang on it.. give me a number and when i get up i will call you. i need this car driving. as it makes one hell of a large ornament..

  4. well im not taking any chances this time had heads skimmed due to oil in water . engine rebuilt and ended up with hydraulic lock as no.6 filled with water.result busted conrod or end cap. not sure as yet .looking friday. so last time we reused old ones. turns out some same they are stretch other say they arent. well second time around im not taking that gamble.

  6. hi peeps so im getting together my parts ready for the rebuild. can anyone tell me where they source the head bolts from. been onto locally shop and they dont list any. been onto nissan and it £9.90 x14 . bit steep i thought. after all i can get them in states for $80. steve
  7. hi well its on its travels monday back to my mech. but i will see what out come is . and give me a clue how the hell do i say your name.
  8. hi ok a few of you have been following my rebuild via fb group i think. so story goes. had a leak oil into water. taken her to a good mechanic i met. very genuine guy. well heads both off and scholar to skim 4 thou off both .cambelt done and a load of deletes . well im reunited yesterday. great i thought. nope go to start her and hydraulic lock. plugs out balance bar off and yup water in plenum and no.6 looking like a home for my fish. guess that head gasket failed. well to top it off i now have5 working cylinders . yup no.6 has decided its comfy where it is... so its back to garage monday . now im looking for your help on a couple of things 1 where can i get a multi layer head gasket 2 where do i get a rod if my crank aint *****xed. 3 i need a damn pint asap
