  1. In Aldi from 1st March at £6.99, has a picture of a 300zx on the bag which is a bit random but nice to complete a tidy car. http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/2867_8992.htm

It's been a while and I am now Zedless but I'd still like to meet up if you guys are having a get together. The indoor go karting place in Cardiff isn't bad and you get lap times etc, or there is always LLandow.
  3. I'm up for it. I'm selling mine but my new 525I needs her legs stretched!
  4. I didn't go in the end due to the weather. Quite glad after what johnynoy says. Shame would have loved to have seen Shane Lynch from boyzone!
  5. http://www.walesmodifiedshow.com/ I'm going to go to this on Sunday, check out the website. Haven't seen much about it so not sure what the turn out will be like. Tickets £13 I think.
  6. I'll be there +1, not sure if I will go straight there or meet up at your's. Depends on my +1' s alarm clock!

Haven't seen this link posted above so apologies if i'm not looking hard enough. It gives a full summary of what is happening on each day and you can purchase your e-ticket on line if your super organised. http://www.britishdriftchampionship.com/news/index.asp?id=29

I'm definately up for the Sunday, anytime really. I assume no objections to bringing friends not on the forum.

Definately up for the go karting. Hopefully it will be wet as it's one hell of a laugh slipping all over the place.
  10. Certianly be up for that I may need a lot of help in the coming months if I keep her.

No not silver one. It's red. I did take it you last year for suspension and ECU uprgrade and a bit of respraying. One of the turbo's is dead and the shell's got some serious rust issues. Looks like a skyline for me next. Somthing a bit different.

Cheers mate. Had awful news. The Zed is dead and "uneconomical" to repair so this will probbably be my last meet for a while until I sort out what to do next. I feel a spares or repair ad coming up...

Right my mate is working on Sunday so to save me the embarassment of trying to keep up in the Fastra TD can I call shot gun with anybody? cheers

I will likely be there minus Zed now. Would anybody have objectiosn to me riding shotgun in my mates Supra or is that a filthy word that should not be uttered in public?
  15. Bit of a negative turn. Car is booked in for a dignostic at Hyeline next week but when I got home today I noticed that there is now a large patch of oil on the ground which seems to have come from my car. Not going to drive it now but I'm guessing thats not a good thing. Oil seal?
  16. I'll certainly get a second opinion too much money to really make rash decisions on and I spent £800 on welding getting it through the MOT in March so not exactly flush. I'll let you know when I get some mechanical opinions.
  17. Big thanks for all the suggestions and feedback. £2500 was a complete estimate but it's always best to prepare yourself for the worst. As for the suggestions from SMW1, I do have those other niggling problems so the temp sensor has probably gone aswell (at least it's £20 or so). However I get no loud noises or smoke from the exhaust under acceleration, just a little on start up but thats always been there and goes pretty quickly. I have been noticing a sort of rattling or diesel esque chain driven sort of noise (vague I know) which is worse when cold and comes in when revs are applied but dissapears after about 4-5000 rpm. I assumed it was the lifters after much investigation but unfortunately the cheap solution of wynns lifter treatment did not cure it so I suppose that could be turbo related. The only thing with that being that again the noise isn't very loud around the time the boost holts at '0' I'll get it looked at this weekend and I'll take it from there. Might have to go back to my reserve car, a austin Mini 889 CC auto in yellow running approx 40 BHP through it's 13" rims which are probably 135 in width. What credit crunch?
  18. Appreciate the offer of help Anthony, I may need it because my mate who used to work at hyeline said I'd be looking at the best part of £2500 to repair both turbo's. As for previous post, I hope it is safety boost, but that should cap boost at -7 (although I know std boost gauges are pretty inaccurate, and car has been chipped with boost upped from standard). I'm getting it looked at on Saturday so hopefully will have a clearer idea. How's the car running Anthony? Looking forward to seeing it at the end of the month.
  19. Hello everyone, I was wondering if anybody could shed some light on my turbo problems and preferable give me good news rather than "it's knackered" or "start saving" but I fear that maybe the outcome. Ok the problem. The drivers side turbo had been making a sort sueeling sound under hard acceleration sporadically and the boost was limited to the 0 mark on the boost gauge. This was fine as it only happened once in a while but 2 weeks ago the car completely refused to go past 0 and would just keep revving but with no extra boost. Up until this point the boost is as usual strong and feels like normal, but as soon as it hit's zero then power delivery is stunted. I checked the ECU diagnostic and it came up with error code 13 so I cleaned the points on the ECU temperature sensor which got rid of that and the ECU now says that there are no faults (code 55). I had hoped that the temp sensor had gone as that is cheap and that the car was in safety boost but it seems that now the code is gone it cold be something worse. Also my friend informs me that the actuator on the wastegate is not opening on this turbo and that there is quite a bit of oil leaking around this area. Does anybody have any suggestions of what it could be? i understand that it may be something that only getting underneath the car will diagnose. Apologies I cannot be too exact as my mechanical knowledge is pretty crap. Appreciate any suggestions or past experiences Jon

I'll be there and preferable without safety boost by that point!
  21. cheers for replying, I tried the lifter stuff, definately helped but the noise is still there, it's like a cross between a rattle a noisy chain and a ticking. I'll have to take it to a mechanic to check it out.
  22. Those *******s pulled me over once for cutting them up at Tesco, they think they're starsky and hutch!
  23. Not sure if you will pick this one up, but did the lifter treatment sort out the noise or was it mainly the probs with the belt? I have exactly the same noise and am hoping that a can will fix it as I have just spent £800 welding it back together for the MOT and don't fancy taking it somewhere to get them to open the engine up!
  24. A Brecon run would be excellent, I was up there last weekend chasing a skyline but it would be great to get up there a little earlier when the roads are quieter. Anthony, if the video is half decent could you post it please? Good luck with the DVLA!
  25. Great to meet you all today and I look forward to the next meet, hopefully we will have a couple more on the road with MOT's and log books in hand. Llandow sounds good to me so when every body is free I'll be there. Jon
