Start up problem
Well the problem hasnt come back since putting the spades on, very tight fit and they are well insulated so may well leave it at that tbh. Anyway, slightly off topic but does anyone know what this red switch is supposed to do? Its "something" to do with the lights but doesnt appear to do anything at all, apart from light up. Guy had aftermarket Xenons fitted (which are rubbish btw), might be something to do with those perhaps?

Start up problem
Checked it today and it was covered in crud and what looked like gasket sealer when i took it out, cleaned it all up and went to put it back only to find the connector wouldnt fasten properly as bits had broken off, then I noticed a wire off, black so prob earth. Where can i get another connector from?[/img]

Start up problem
Wires and fuses all checked, hoses are good. Location of the temp sender, up front near the fan?

Start up problem
It was indeed the battery connection, damn wires at the end were shot, trimmed em back and re-ended em made it fire again, still back to the other problem though, it will start, run for a bit, then cut out, attempting to start it again, fuel pump makes a high pitched noise for about a second and half, then just cranks and cranks. PTU btw is ice cold during all this

Start up problem
Cheers for the tips guys, no other PTU to hand to try, really want to make sure it is that thats at fault before I buy another tbh. Temp sender unit? Hmm, worth a look, especially as very recently the temp gauge stopped working too. Tonight however raised more issues, fully charged battery, turned key, clunk, all power gone, no dash lights, no nothing. Jump leads on, dash lights, turn key, clunk, nothing again!

Start up problem
tbh it could just be me hearing things but theres fuel going in, flooded it more than once trying to get it to start

Start up problem
This has happened intermittently for a while, basically the fuel pump makes a slightly higher pitched whining noise than normal, engine cranks but no joy. Then sometimes it fires normally, very odd and I heard it might be the PTU so dremelled it open only to find all connections were good, cleaned the plug connections too while I was at it, still the same. Any thoughts guys?

Wiring up aftermarket oil pressure gauge off dashboard gauge
Title says it all and all the way through the operation I kept telling myself that it wont work but carried on anyway, so theres an aftermarket gauge sitting in a cluster with a temp and boost gauge for company, temp is wired off the dash gauge and seems to work, boost, well, easy considering the vacuum pipe was already there (it does work btw!) but oil pressure, firstly it went off the scale, then sat about 40, then knocked out the dashboard gauge which doesnt move at all now. I know, I know, should have gone through a sender separately and did it properly, but while the clocks were off the temptation to just "give it a try" was too great!

Fuel gauge keeps going to the top!
Thanks for the welcome guys!! I get it about filling up but before I did that I threw the dice one more time and tried something else, as the needle was going up I popped it off and reinserted it lower down, had to do that twice before it started to slow down, then once more at empty, it then rose, very slowly, to just over a quarter and stayed there, if that needle goes up when I do throw some happy juice in it, then jobs a good un I reckon! Next is an aftermarket oil pressure gauge that I may have attempted something foolish with, but i'll start another thread about that!

Fuel gauge keeps going to the top!
Hi all! Sorry if my first post is a cry for help but its because of this problem that ive registered to be honest but i'll stick around for a bit, honest! Aaaanyway, got a 300zx that someone had attempted to "bling up" with boost/oil pressure/temp gauges and putting white stickers over the black clocks etc, im sure you get the picture! lol. Removed all that but in removing the fuel gauge sticker I had to take the needle out, this is where my current problem began because re-inserting it and turning the ignition on results in the needle going all the way up and past the full mark (if only it were true!), tank has about a quarter in. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated!!!
