  1. Hi Ian, nice to meet you too. I really enjoyed having a look at your cars. Once I've fitted the injectors, I'm taking my car to Lee in Shrewsbury as you suggest. See you around, Matthew.
  2. Thanks for the info Joely P. I'll take your advice and speak to Noz.
  3. Hi, Two injectors have failed on my 1990 300ZX TT. All the injectors are the original stock 370cc, old style connector versions. Does anyone have any replacements I can purchase? I've damaged two of the brittle old connectors when I removed them to test the injectors. Does anyone know whether it is safe to mix and match old and newer style stock injectors of the same capacity? If so, I don't mind buying newer style injectors assuming I can get some new style connectors to splice in to the wiring loom. Thanks, Matthew
  4. Thanks for the welcome. Groover: I'll search/ask about the injectors. Yes, I meant the ones at the front. I'm pretty nervous about attacking the plenum with a sensei though! I'm also thinking about doing something more expensive like having them all replaced with some 555s, chipping it, boost controller, remap?, decat etc. Whatever I do though, I think I'll replace the injectors with stock ones asap because I miss driving it. Phutumsch: I scratched my head at that for a minute! Never seen that before, good one :)
  5. Hi, I joined the club in 2006 but mostly lurked in the background. My old username was Mr Matt but I only posted a few messages. After years of not really visiting the site, I feel like joining in a bit more and changing my username at the same time. If anyone is interested, my name is Matthew and I'm a physicist working at the University of Manchester. Met my wife at uni here 14 years ago and we have a two year old son. I've owned my gunmetal grey 300ZX TT since 2006 when my dad gave it to me. Best Gift Ever! He bought it new in 1990 when I was 8 years old so it's been a part of the family for most of my life. Hopefully I'll be passing it on to my son one day. Here's a picture from a recent drive in the peak district: This car always brings smile to my face. Even if it's just catching a glimpse out of the front window. I live on the border of the peak district so the car only really gets driven on fast, twisty roads. My favourite is the Macclesfield to Buxton road early in the morning or late evening when there is hardly any traffic. When I got the car, it had done just over 32,000 miles and it's now at just under 50,000. It had lived outside for a few years before I got it so I've had it's super absorbent sponge of a spoiler replaced, both rear arches replaced, sills fixed up and some of the sun bleached plastic trim resprayed. It's got stock wheels all round but the front ones are uk rears. It might be in my head but I think this cured some understeer. I'm on my second set of these since the first ones went porous and flat every few days. Looks like these ones are going the same way... It's got an aftermarket, stock looking exhaust and an induction kit. I've just got the car back from Jeff at Zedworld, who replaced the brakes with refurbished ones with all new brake lines since the original set had seized. What a difference! The car nearly killed me just before this was done. A few years ago some hit and run driver crashed in to the passenger door so this has been replaced. Everything else is stock, including the broken cd player and buzzing old speakers. As far as I can spot, it's rust free except for a bit of surface rust underneath on things like the suspension arms. I got my car back only a few weeks ago from an extended stay with Zedworld where it had a brake system rebuild and a new cam belt and sod's law would have it that number 1 injector failed almost straight afterwards. It has gone open circuit. Fine when I stopped it and broken when I next started the car. I've checked the resistance of the others and they are all 12 Ohms except number 2 which is failing at 30 Ohms. I'm now considering taking a dremel to the plenum and replacing these two injectors myself. Anyone know where I can get two replacement injectors from in the near future? I really miss driving it! TLDR: Hello, Love my 300zx!
  6. Hi, You could try Phil at Blackmoor service station, which would be a fairly short trip down the M61 for you. He's serviced my 300zx tt for years and used to own one.
