  1. Hey mate il sell you my consult with all the cards (jap ones) the case and original charger..... its powers up now the only problem is the flat cable was broken.... before breaking the cable i got it to print and that worked fine. I don't have any more time to throw at it now. If you want it PM me.
  2. Veilside if you want to sell your to me let me know? Mines working now but unfortunately the flat cable for the card reader was damaged so I need to replace that. I also need program cards as the ones I have are all Japanese! Do you have the yellow card? Thanks!
  3. Ok so the backup battery was totally dead, replaced it with a new 3V 2025 battery just like the one in your picture... Cut the main battery open got the old batteries out and temporarily connected 4 AA batteries [2100ma] ones.... The consult when holding the on button still won't power up... Tried holding left and right squares down... Nothing... There is power coming from the batteries but the consult won't display anything... I got a 6V DC charger with the batteries unconnected can see a voltage at the pins so the power is travelling from the dc port to the battery terminals ok. All the ribbon connectors appear to be fine and the pcb components don't appear to be burnt out.... Did I miss something?
  4. Superb and much appreciated response Lymon!! Im going to get some new batteries and do this, will report back with results! What do you recommend as a replacement battery charger? The red LED on the existing canon charger doesn't light up when plugged in. I can't see anything obvious inside when opened up....so maybe the transformer has gone bad..... Thanks again for the super response.
  5. PS.... Lymon - when you've seen the main battery pack cut, which side makes it the cleanest job to get to the old cells easily without making a complete mess of the pack?
  6. Thanks for the replies guys. Where is the backup battery located and what power rating is that one? The main battery is dead for sure as it's leaked acid and is just a flat line voltage wise. The rating is 4.7V @ 700ma according to the label on it. Manual would be useful in English to refer back to once it's up and running lol Presently with 4 AA batteries it still won't power up at all. Thanks again for the response guys
  7. Lymon - do you have more pages from the consult manual? Or a link to find it? The problem with mine is the battery leaked I've got the original charger and all other bits it won't power up now.
  8. hi mate did you ever get your consult up and working?? Ive got one and could do with some help
