  1. Hi subscribed on 12th Jan, can't pm you with my details yet could you check cheers
  2. cheers Graham, I need to source various bits so subscribing seems the sensible way to go
  3. after being a registered member for a while I've finally subscribed cheers
  4. Hi I think the Cruise ECU should be in there, it is on my 92 Jap Auto TT. My HICAS ECU is under the dash on the drivers side - off side
  5. Hi I took my import to KwikF here in Bristol, the connection required an adaptor which they actually did have so they could connect up. The issue with mine was that although their guages showed no leaks, guages are not sensitive enough to show anything other than a major leak, my aircon condenser/rad did have a leak as shown to me by the guy who eventually fixed it (Mr Cool), by the simple expedient of looking at the rad, seeing staining in one corner suggestive of a leak then spraying leak tester on it to prove it and seeing the bubbles. I don't think that particular guy at KwikF was really capable of any diagnostics. Cheers
  6. coluld be the sender unit a similar thing happened to me. a new sender fixed it. pressure does obviously vary according to oil temp and revs tho cheers
  7. Hi, just checked, my horn works too! thanks for the suggestion tho.
  8. Hi I've got the same problem on my 92 jap auto. I've had the brake and dash switches and all the wiring checked out they were apparently all working ok. Plus there was a signal being delivered from the speedo. I also tried a replacement cruise actuator the motor runs and the vacuum tub holds vacuum when it is supplied separately and this moves the throttle cable. The motor assembly has o-ring seals which could well be dodgy it might just not be vacuum tight. The diagnostics on the cruise ECU check out ok apart from one reading at 10 v instead of 12v which my local friendly electrician is not sure how big a deal this is. Inside the cruise actuator motor assembly there are 1 or 2 solenoids which I think dictate whether vacuum is supplied or not or where its directed. So the next thing is to check these solenoids out and see if they are working, and/or to find a replacement cruise ECU. Be careful because there are at least 2 types of ECU with different pin configurations. It's turning into a saga........
  9. whether the motor in the cruise control actuator should run all the time the cruise control is switched on, or whether it only starts up when a certain speed is reached. Still trying to figure out whats stopping my cc working, the ECU has passed the diagostics, the actuator motor works, maybe the motor unit isn't holding a vacuum or the internal solenoid is u/s. When a vacuum is independently applied to the vacuum part this works and moves the cable so this bit doesn't seem to be at fault. cheers
  10. thanks for the feedback. they sound ok over the phone! I'll see how I get on cheers
  11. just wondered if anyone had got any bits from them and what their service was like, e.g. if you need to send bits back etc cheers
  12. Hi the cruise actuator on my late 92 TT jap auto has died. the actuator motor runs but doesn't produce any vacuum. The cruise ECU checks out ok on the diagnostics. Does anyone have a working actuator for sale? I've seen 2 different part numbers on oem-surplus.com, mine is 18910 40P00. Does anyone know how many different types there are? Also does anyone know if they are fixable, is there a diaphagm inside? cheers
  13. any chance of sending a photo so I can check its the one. already bought one wrong-un. or I'm in bristol too so could come over Cheers
  14. any chance of a cruise control ECU? and as I'm in bristol I could collect mines a Jap Nov 1992 TT auto
