  1. Evening all, hope you're well Brian. Thought I'd pipe up and reassure you it's still a very good car! It's been stored in a garage all the time I've owned it, except for 6 months in the summer up to October last year. Had it up on the ramps again before I put the ad up to give it a once over and still in great condition no rust or anything. It's never let me down at all apart from the clutch master cylinder which was replaced. Have absolutely loved owning and I am torn even advertising it let alone selling, but unfortunately circumstances mean I just don't use it enough to warrant the cost of keeping it on the road and I can't bear to let it sit. I must have only driven it a dozen times this year. I know for a fact I'm going to be kicking myself in 5 years time when I want it back and have the time to properly enjoy it. If anyone on here is interested give me a shout, like the ad says I'm open to offers. As you guys may remember it needs minor tidying up to make it perfect. My plans to do so were rudely interrupted by life. Working full time, doing a uni degree part time and renovating a house doesn't leave much time... Craig
  2. Also need to cure a bit of exhaust smoke that appears until the oil is warm.......? Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
  3. Joely stop it yours is too perfect it makes me jealous!!!! Bri, I am a few years younger and I do love the stealth black look!! You have to admit the wheels aren't perfect!! I'm thinking a gear box rebuild sometime if I can get the help? Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

  12. take the sump back off is probably best I guess..... fml
  13. ok so a bolt just snapped in the sump. Now what? :censored:  :mad2:
  14. so there are a lot more parts off today. Stupid question... I have taken the sump off, when I lay under and look up where the sump was there is a grated cover. What is said cover? Also I need to take the cams out. Do I have to get it at TDC first? Oh boy :smash:
  15. Cheers Jeff that's helpful. I'm gonna guess the answer to griffs question is yes and when the oil is not up to temp and at idle/cruise? Just a guess... Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
  16. Thankfully I've got an uncle with a fair few years of tool collection and his mates have even more... Going to buy the basics for myself and borrow the expensive parts for now. I've got to fix it/finish taking it apart before I start putting it back together anyway!!! So someones already had it apart by the looks of things, paint marked bolts on throttle bodie and new clips on those hoses. Possibly replaced the head gasket and then it overheated still anyway. Fun fun fun. This could be a long and embarrassing one :sweatdrop:
  17. Been looking at that cheers znut, just on my phone... but now i've set up PC should be easier. Been to halfords so many times. got one of their tool sets but they leave out all the usefull ones!! I've used two sockets and an adjustable spanner... and a flat head screw driver a surprising amount.....
  18. I am staying well away from any bolts on the zed trust me haha. Could be at this shed for weeks at this rate. No gear and even less of an idea.... Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
  19. Cheers for the replies guys, you make it sound so easy!! I need some help if you can.... I've got the cover off, air box out the way etc, took the radiator off to drain the coolant and create more room (big clumsy hands). What now? I guess I have to use a block of wood and jack to hold the engine and remove the mount?? Then remove the timing chain (do I need to position this TDC first or can that be done when putting it back on?) Does the sump need to be removed first? I'd like to clean the dirty oil and coolant out of this before putting new oil in? I'm going to pick up the gasket set and timing tools then will just come back and clean what I've got for now... Can you help? as you can see im in aq pickle lol
  20. Ok first mistake... I mean timing chain
  21. So I bought a 2000 Corsa (B) 1.2 16v that needs a new head gasket.... For £170 (75k miles not bad condition). Plan is to get my hands dirty and fix it up myself then use as a daily. It's in bits in the garage and I have no idea what I'm doing but I'm plodding along!! Good job I got a pc set-up in here so I can use my friend constantly (google is your friend). Just about to take the cams out but got to remove some sh!te to get to the timing belt and align that first... I think... :scared:
