Didn't get to see it today unfortunately. Will have to be Saturday now....

Aircon belt
Going to look at it this afternoon hopefully, so I'll let you know how I get on. 89k uk car with a FSH and thousands of pounds worth of recipets apparently. Descibed as immaculate, although I've heard that line before. The only downer is it has 18" chrome alloys which if I buy it will be comming straight off. It's advertised for £4k

Aircon belt
Thanks Ron, I will go and look at it. Appart from anything else i've never even sat in one before and seeing as how it's so close, 2miles away, it would be daft not too. At the very least I will find out if a 300 is for me.

Aircon belt
Going to see a 300 TT on Thursday. When I spoke to the seller last night he said that it was in the grage at the moment becuae the Aircon drive belt had snapped. Could this be a sign of how well the car has been looked after? Does the 300Z have a separate belt for the Aircon or is it the same belt as the alternator power steering pump etc.... Should the fact that has been left so long it has failed concern me? Thanks

nzr..Holy Diver..A Night With Dio
Dio, It's been a long time since I listened to them. I had a Live EP of theirs somewhere. His vocals are certainly destinctive. Not sure I'd want to listen to them now though.

Turbo or no turbo
Contact trading standards. Then write the trader a nice letter stating that you know your rights and wish to be compensated. If he doesn't respond then get a solicitor to write a letter to the trader. It may cost you a few quid but as this guy is clearly at fault then IMO you have very little to loose.

How long do turbos last......
Thanks for the responses guys :)

How long do turbos last......
No not at the moment Gaz. Just checking out a few cars in my area, including yours:)

How long do turbos last......
Roughly how long should turbos and other engine components for that matter last generally on a properlly maintained car? Could they be expected to last indefinately or is there a point where even a well cared for car will need them or other bits replacing? The reason I ask is that I have seen, amongst others, a UK 92 TT for sale with 89K on the clock. The add says imacluate car with FSH and loads of bills. Thanks

insurance
I haven't had a quote yet, but I'm hoping that since I'm 30 and have 7 years NCD that it won't be too bad. A while ago I got a quote for a Skyline GTST with aftermarket induction, exhaust and alloys and it was £1200.

Air con removal
Absolutely, I wouldn't buy a car without aircon. My BM doesn't have it and I'm sick of sweating a lot when the sun comes out :)

So you've not told them about all the mods? Tut Tut very naughty......:D I wouldn't be able to go for a classic policy since I will be using it every day to go to work.

insurance
I have been looking around at TT Zs for sale and none of them are standard, in fact most that come up in the for sale section of this forum have quite a few mods. How easy is it to insure such a highly modifed car, especially an import? Also companies will only quote you on a car if you list every single modification which makes it quite difficult to get quotes unless you have actually decide to buy the car and rules out almost all online quotes. Any thoughts/adivice on this? A lot of you guys must have been through this before. Cheers

Air con removal
I have noticed that a few owners remove the aircon from their cars. Why? does it really use that much power?

Car
Wow that is a long time. Either Zs aren't fast sellers or they have them up for too much. The heated leather thing doesn't bother me at all. IMO heated electric seats have no place in a proper sports car. All they do is add unecessary weight. But each to their own :)
