  3. Garmin has better mapping, i`ve used a few and prefer it to the others. Bob
  4. Has to be done in the programming, any Toad dealer will do it, bit of a bitch if you`re not familiar with it so wouldn`t even try to explain it to you!! Bob
  5. The bleep may have been disarmed but if you arm it with a fault(door, boot, bonnet open) then you will get an audible warning. Bob
  6. If the alarm has been fitted properly it is impossible to get locked out of the car. On the Z the 2 doors and the boot can all be connected using 1 wire, (red and white behind the clocks) If only one door has been connected to the alarm then it won`t work properly. The Toad Alarms won`t lock the doors if a door is open(that feature is on a 12 second timer) so if it is locking with a door open then the alarm isn`t seeing the door that`s open. Easiest way to check, open 1 door and set the alarm, if you get 3 bleeps from the siren then that circuit is working, try the other door, boot and bonnet seperate. If you don`t get a fault code when arming then that circuit isn`t working properly. Bob
  7. In theory no you can`t upgrade it to Cat1 status, this is because the remote you have will probably be a fixed code rather than rolling code whice means everytime you press it you send the same code to the receiver making it easy to copy. Thatcham requires rolling code technology! However, if you were to have a Cat2 Immobiliser fitted to the car you could then have fitted what we call a 2-1 upgrade such as the Toad 850T. This can be programmed to work of your original remote allowing you to keep it`s features. If you don`t have a Cat2 fitted then you will need a full Cat1 system fitted none of which can use your existing remote. Hope that helps!! Bob
  8. Any Alarm System fitted outside the UK will NOT be recognised by Thatcham as an approved system as Thatcham Approval does not exist in Japan. Alarm Companies (Toad,Clifford etc) have to pay thousands to get a system approved, once all the tests have been carried out it then goes on the approved list for insurance companies. Bob
