  1. Would not achieve any gear at all. got 1st momentarily but then i could not get 1st either.
  2. Hi, Thanks for all your comments!! Appreciate it all. Well i heard a big snap noise just before the gears dropped. So i am assuming it is the pin that broke, dont know why. I will try posting some more pics, but at the moment it is at my mechanics. JaiKai please can you post a pic of the triangle part as i am keen to buy that and see if that does the job. Thank you to you all
  3. thank you for all your replies. But how come this looks different to the part i need? i thought i needed the new triangle type part?
  4. Nope was none of the ones you suggested for the fuse. Any other ideas? Anything else that could be wrong? Sorry i know this was a long time ago lol
  5. Hi everyone, I have a twin turbo, manual, 1993 300zx. Unfortunately my gear box (manual) is just broke. I was driving one day and suddenly the gear stick just dropped, it would not go in to any gear :( it was totally un-driveable. Would not go in to any gear at all, even reverse. Blocked one lane off (rush hour) for 45 mins untill the recovery truck came and took it to my mechanics. Please see the attached photos for reference. It seems the gear linkage has just snapped off. Some people say it is a common problem, but i cant find a replacement anywhere? This is the part that is broken, its connected to the gear linkage, but its totally snapped off. It wont pick up any gear at all. Found a place in USA, that can supply it. But £100 is very expensive. Just wondering if anyone here can help? Any one else come across this issue? Or anyone local i can buy the part off?
  6. hmm i actrually thought it was the defogger one. but good to see another option :) will give them a go tomorrow. just picked my z up from the mechanics....wooohoooo wow! its even faster than before! what happened was water got in through the cracks. When he used the air pressure pipe near the crack a lot of water came gushing out. now its all sealed and fixed up and faster than ever! :)
  7. hi, great news found the fault :) it wasnt the problem jeff said it vould be, it was actually that the maf sensor area had some sort of crack. now its all fixed and ready to drive:) atleast all the connections have been given a good look over and clean. thank you for everyone that have taken time out to help. just one question though...what fuse is linked to the auto folding/moving mirrors? any ideas? thanks
  8. hi jeff, can you tell me where the yellow plug is? i know where the idle valve is, is the yellow plug on that? thanks
  9. Thank you! I am going to do that today hopefully! Thanks!
  10. thanks, its - turn it fully clockwise. Wait at 2-3 seconds, then turn potentiometer fully counter clock-wise. The ECU is now in Diagnostics MODE II Diagnostics will definitely give it a go or see if my mechanic is clever enough to do it. oh any dangers before i do this? like to the ecu etc? always good to ask before you try.
  11. :clap:after lots of searching i finally found he thread... here it is http://www.zmods.org/index.php?page=ecu_diag thoughts? yes i know that its auto and american.
  12. was reading a forum just a bit ago about this. what the guy said was that if you locate the ecu unit under the fake floor on passenger side, it has a knob on the side that you rotate twice and it enters diagnostic mode, now that has the same thing it flashes etc as you said. (was mentioning postimeter or something a lot, was a quick read for me, so sorry if i havent said it right) however you are correct, slow is first number, fast is second. can anyone confirm this so i can give it a go? now Japanese fault coding is rare, i dont know anyone. my mechanic cant as his machine doesnt do jap as software is different.
  13. oh yes i found that later on, thank you
  14. ill show my friend and see what happens. just hope i get it fixed soon. i think the sender unit had lots of black tape around so took it off and checked it out cleaned it up etc as well as all the other connectors cleaned out, none made a difference. will look at the maf sensor. just dont understand why the car would cut out completely. p.s. anyone know where the fuse is for electric door mirrors? cant move them or close them, think fuse has gone but cant find it!:ninja:
