Hello all,
I'm not one of the more actif member but I need help.
I was racing a 750 Gsxr when suddently my engine stifled and a hudge cloud of smoke follow.
I was in 5th gear and 6000 Rpm.
I then let the car go in neutral and bring it back home with a truck.
I then restart the engine ini my garage and the smoke was coming directly from the engine and the exhaust.
Considering the smoke from the exhaust I was thinking the driver (I'm french) side turbo was dead but I could not explain the smoke for the engine bay.
Yesterday, I worked on the car and this is where the nightmare start.
I jack up the car and there was oil all over the engine (driver side). This can explain the smoke coming from the engine bay (oil on the turbo and manifold).
I imagine then that the oil leak would be udge and maybe go into the euxhaust, that could explain the smoke on the exhaust.
So a friend started the car while I was underneath to locate the leak but whitout success.
I decided to remove the exhaust to check the turbo. When I pull the exhaust, oil was flowing like when you do your oil change !!!!!
The was oil every where, on all the exhaust pipe. I use a greddy TD05-16G turbo kit with external wastge gate and maniflod. Even the wastegate where full of oil.
I so think it was the turbo damage. I pull of the turbo and he as no play at all and worth there is no oil at all on the admission side of the turbo. The intercooler hose are completly dry.
Then, It can't be the turbo. I inspected the exhaust manifold and it was oily.
At this time, I was thinking oil is coming from the engine. I pulled 2 spark plug on the driver side and they were full of oil. The other side was dry.
I decided to pull the intake manifold and when I remove the balance pipe, I could see oil in the passenger side small hole. In fact there were like half a inch of oil sitting on the intake manifold. But no oil on the intake hose.
I stopped at this point yesterday.
I will take my compressions today but can this be a diagnostic of a dead piston? (I have Wiseco piston).
I also have this PCV race upgrade:

I was wondering if the oil on the manifold coupld not have come from the PCV and then going onto the engine and the exhaust.
I also have to mention that the car was starting normally and running. There were no strange noise at all.
Any help from specialist will be welcome :)
