I looked at both those cars, they are in the same garage near andover, the pictures flatter the cars! they are both at the back of a about 30 cars. the guy in the garage went to get a battery starter so he could start them up for me, I however had looked round them and told him i wasnt interested in either before he lifted the bonnet.

  5. Already went! Back now, she drove like a dream, first real test she has had, 420 miles and never skipped a beat, oil pressure and temp sat good and touched 125 without floooring it (on a private road of course :) ) trye pressures were all at 32 when i checked this morning so left them at that, tyres dont look to thin and yes they are standard wheels. she handles fine. all in all a good day, happy with the ride and got my baccy as well.

  13. The trouble is, in this country, as in many others we allow ouselves to be walked over! So many people are of the belief that the goverments have the power. The truth is the people do in a 'democratic' society. But we do not use that right! Labour slipped this road charging in after the election (very wise) because they knew if it had been talked about before the election then their majority would have been weakened considerably, maybe even cost them the election. They rely on the fact that announcing it after the election no one can do a thing about it. Well thats what people think as labour have been elected for another 4 years. Wrong! The difficulty, as already ponted out, is that we as a people (50+ million strong) do nothing about it. If 'us' 50 million people said tomorrow, as one voice, we don't want you as our goverment then they could not do a thing about it, 4 years elected or not. There are probably quite a few ways to do this if everyone stuck together, but there is the real problem, getting people to stick together instead of just accepting things and saying 'oh well, we cant change anything' At the end of the day we can. As far as I am concerned '....' the road mileage taxing unless it is going to be a fairer way of charging people who use the roads' rather than just a way of taking more money from the 50 million. And if it is just another stitch up we should all stand up and be counted and don't let them get away with it AGAIN!
  14. 48 with many years of Zedding ahead!
  15. good question, am looking forward to replies as i have been thinking of adding 'slick 50' when i change the oil, have always used it b4 in other cars i have owned with no apparent ill effects.
  16. Thanks guys, reason I asked is mine dropped a bit the other day but seems ok again now. Just under the '4' halfway when cold, just under the 1/4 line which I presume is 2 when warm at idle and when driving (at about 3000 revs) sits about halfway between the '2' and the '4' marks.
  17. Can anyone tell me what oil pressure should be please? My gauge reads: '0' '4' '8' Thanks
  18. dont care who makes it as long as i get one lol
  19. Got it booked in Sat 25th. I take it you must work there Greg, can I wait for the car? I know it is a good few hours job, but would take me ages to get home and back. Also I may be able to watch the job being done which would start to give me some 'experience' . I wouldn't get in the way! Am a mechanic by trade, trained in the days of 1600E's etc :) never worked on anything like this. p.s. I could make the tea or hand the spanners out :)
  20. Thanks Steve, didn't get any bits yesterday for her, too busy driving it! Mrs gets a bit nervous, but she going to have a go today. She only used to a 1.3 diesel so going to find some flat land first to get her used to it. :)
  21. got her booked in with ZTECH. Now off to look for some small bits, steering wheel, pedals, light bulbs, gearknob etc :) will try to get some pics done today
  22. pic in rides, will get some done over the weekend, this was the pic in the ad i saw
  23. Got one! Well pleased, was worth the wait and looking around. 1995 on an M plate with 68k on the clock. Drove it home from Manchester and she drives like a dream. Everything nice and tight and no rattles, everything seems to work fine. Temp stayed just halfway, and oil prressure just under halfway. No service history, so going to get cambelt service etc done and put some good oil in. Thanks to all who gave me advice etc. Nice one guys. Have put pic in 'Rides' Was the photo I saw in the advertisement
