Re-Importing Zed
Sounds like a plan, as per usual I've left it too late and will have to do the whole lot by post so calling them first is probably the best way to ensure i don't get it all back for not crossing a T

Re-Importing Zed
Hi all, I'm looking to UK register a Zed that's currently registered in the Isle of Man. It's a Jap one that had a previous UK reg before it went over. Just got the MOT (and i've got the IOM document that has its previous UK Reg) but does anyone know what else i need and what the proceedure is? Cheers all :)

Midlands Breakfast Club - 13th April 09:00
That was my Red one, didn't see any others though! Were loads of cars, hardly any of them made it onto the web site.

Right all, last push to the finish now, looks like there could be a good few of us there but still space for plenty more! There will plenty of non-zedders there and you never know maybe one will log on and buy a car, thereby increasing demand, thereby increasing the value of your cars, meaning more or less you're being paid to be there! [n.b. some logic may not be entirely accurant here but turn up anyway]

Midlands Breakfast Club - 13th April 09:00
Right all, after failing to be at the last one I'll definitely be there. Last one seemed to get a good turn-out here and for any newbies the museum (free entry) is worth it alone, oh and the cars! http://www.midlandsbreakfastclub.co.uk Who's with me? :nana2:

Engine Rebuild
£500 sounds very very low, I've never seen a price for it but i was guessing about 4 times that otherwise i would get it done straight away....

Grey J reg, Trentham - Stoke
Yeah I think it did, couldn't tell if it was auto or not, didn't change gear as they pulled away fairly fast but had the TT vents.

Grey J reg, Trentham - Stoke
Saw one leaving Screwfix at Trentham lakes, nice sounding aftermarket cans. I was wandering past on the pavement when you pulled out, wish i'd driven the zed instead of walked now...

Midlands Breakfast Club - Sunday 2nd March EARLY
Just in case anyone is interested... www.midlandsbreakfastclub.co.uk went to the Midlands Breakfast Club meet last month and it was excellent, lots of different cars from Ferraris to golfs and a great atmosphere, plus you get free entry to the aircraft museum! Would be good to see a few more Zeds there.

How Long For Engine To Reach Temperature?
I'm going to hijack this threat slightly... How do you all warm your cars up? I always tended to favour letting it idle for a few minutes for the oil pressure to drop and to get some heat into the engine, however i've now been told it's the worse thing you can do for the engine wear-wise. Opinions?

Odd Turbo Noise
Thanks Red_Zed, sounds like a plan. Znut - no cats at all! Seems to be getting worse whatever it is so slightly worrying. Probably just a coincidence but the oil pressure gauge that was very varied for a few months 0.1 - 6KgCm3 is now only reading 0.1 - 2....... really need to fit a more accurate one soon if only for my sanity

Odd Turbo Noise
Let me start by saying: Not using oil Not smoking Still boosting strongly 'Off throttle' gives good - neg pressure There is no noise off-boost and i can't hear one on-boost (although may be drowned out by the hiss and exhaust!) however when i get close to 0 pressure (between +/- 0.5 mmHg) there is a slight rattling noise like shaking two dice in a cup, almost a ratchet noise.... Any ideas anyone? :)

Which colour car is fastest - lets clear this up
Right slight deviation.... Snells law: the (theta1) and (theta2) is the deviation in degrees from the original course of the light (if i remember). Now when you shine a white source light and gradually move it from a perpendicular (right angle = 0deg) to a tangental (1-89) a one point, depending on the medium, it will eventually reflect rather than pass through the medium. This is because as you increase the angle you shine it at the medium with (theta1) so the angle it refracts at (theta 2) has to increase. Eventually the angle is so great, because the light has slowed down it will exit back out of the medium on the same side aka a reflection. This gives us the problem that: n1*sin(theta1) = n2*sin(theta2) so if the 'sin(theta1)' and 'sin(theta2)' are the same (angles of reflection are equal) then n1 and n2 are the same the refraction index hasn't changed, so the medium hasn't changed so it never touched the glass, SO... why did it reflect?????? :nelson: :slap:
