  1. Thanks Lads, I have a bit to think about now. The first thing I need to do is diagnose exactly what is wrong. Is there anybody near me (south east) that knows what they are looking for, who wouldn't mind having a look under my Zed? It's obviously worth a few beer tokens. Thanks, Mike...
  2. Hi guys, I have a prop shaft rattle that I want to get sorted. I am currently in negotiations to get a good second hand one, but I have a couple of questions. Is there any difference between NA and TT shafts? and any difference between manual and autos? Also do I need to get specific bearings? I have an NA Auto, if that helps anybody answer these questions. Thanks, Mike...

If you don't live too far from work get yourself a chep moped! I know I'll be laughed at but the cost of running one is ridiculously low. Mike...
  4. What a terrible looking shed (i mean zed). And the description is even worse! What sort of idiot would bid on that?
  5. Unlucky mate...
  6. I know this can be a little confusing, but you have to think about it for the other way around. If you have 100 bhp at the fly (assuming you lose 20% through the transmission) you will have 80 bhp at the wheels. to do the maths, you multiply by 0.8 (or 80%). Working backwards to get from 80 bhp at the wheels you have to divide by 0.8 If you were to just add 20% you would end up with 96 bhp. Does this make sense?
  7. Yes Sarge, you've got an extra 14 bhp just through the power of maths, you have got to be happy with that. Mike...
  8. I did it once when I was younger. Scared the sh!t out of me. I wouldn't do another one. It's funny because I agress with Blackmagic's view entirely, but the Ouiji board did seem very real.
  9. HI guys, I had a bloke come round last night to check out my air con. he found out that there is a short somewhere within the compressor or its clutch. Does anyone know where to get a second-hand compressor? or know of anyone selling one? Thanks Mike...
  10. Looks very tidy, I wish I had bought that one! good luck with the sale. Mike...
  11. congrats, I bet you're bouncing up and down like Tigger. first thing to do is get subscribed and put some photos up...
  12. Sorry Sarge, your calculations are incorrect although I agree that you lose around 20% through the transmission. but if you measure 239 at the wheels then you need to divide this by 0.8 to get the bhp at the fly - which equals - 298.75 To illustrate, if you take your stated flywheel bhp (348) you should be able to muliply this by 0.8 to get the bhp at the wheels. You were simply adding 20% to the bhp at the wheels. Sorry for pointing this out, but it does mean Jon's figures should be about 298bhp at the fly. Mike...
  13. Hi Benny, I've got a non-turbo (NA) and I paid £2300 for it. It is a lot cheaper on the insurance than a TT but it has cost me a lot of dosh since. Costs for new exhaust, tires etc along with a complete b*stard of an electrical gremlin. But once you drive one you wont want anything else...
  14. I've got a guy coming around this evening to regas mine, so I'll let you know how it goes. he is going to charge £69 which is about half the price of some of the quotes I've had. Mike...
  15. Very cool but I have 2 questions, What is the big red box hanging over the rear axle? Am I being stupid? Mike...
  16. This one might give you a headache. The picture is not actually moving at all...
  17. Very sorry to hear that news. You have my deepest sympathy.
  18. I found your headlight panel T-Pot, while browsing from another thread. http://www.amzperformance.com/z32/?page=shop/flypage&product_id=458&category_id=b42adad512581f28c948c3ae557cb0db& Mike...
  19. After converting the speedo from KPH to MPH, does this affect the mileometer? I've seen a few Zeds on ebay that say things like this... can anyone help? Mike...
  20. Don't know if they are any goo but they are for SWB models only.
  21. This is the first BMW that I have wanted to own for a long time. http://www.fast-autos.net/hartge/hartgeh1.html
  22. I crashed a Porsche 996 at low speed  and cracked the front bumper, there were also a load of stone chips on it. I used Chipsaway to fix it up and I have to say they did a blinding job, they charged about £170 and it looked like new. That Porsche paint didn't look easy to match either. I would definitely use them again. Mike...
  23. I want that supercharger... *Drools over keyboard*
  24. This is the only true fact...
