  1. and should the car be flat on the floor or raised on stands when i pull the engine
  2. should i use a load leveler on the engine
  3. do i have to lift the front of the car to get it out and leave the gearbox in or just drop the subframe to the floor to get clearance its a twin turbo

  9. cheers ill remember that when reffiting does my head in when people do work on cars and cut corners all there doing is making more work for later or killing someone

  11. right in the process of removing my engine it says here http://diy.icydesigns.com/article/170/Nissan/300ZX/Z32_(1990-96)/Engine/Engine:_Removal/ that you need a 3ft extension to remove the gearbox is that for the bolts round the top of the gearbox as if it is there not there as some :cowboy: who changed the clutch and didnt put them back :scared: tis car does nearl 200mph with missing bolts
  12. well when i rang him this morning he didnt seem that happy that it sold so cheep but thats the gamble you take when you are to tight to put a reserve or starting price bought a complete roof for my mx5 with heated rear screen for 99p once his postage was £30 so drove the ten miles to his house gave him a quid and said keep the change lol there are still bargainsd if you look
  13. well won an engine complete with turbos on ebay last night £27 hopefully its a good one aparently only done 80k
  14. it drunk all the water and still wanted more but i had none
  15. the coolant gauge went up to hot then went back down to normal then lost power pulled over sat on the m6 for about half hour pored in about 6litres of water it was boiling out of the radiator and that was after half an hour so id guess there was no water atall and the only thing cooling the engine was the oil id say its dead
  16. going to do a compression test and a few other things tommorow my sisters offered to buy me an engine so just need to look for one theres a couple of interesting ones on fleabay
  17. does it have to be a turbo engine or will a none turbo do if i transfer my bits over
  18. ill put an add on here aswell you never know only probs is im skint till after crimbo so itll have to wait till then wish id bought the rad i was offered of hollowpoint now well you live and learn or mabye not lol
  19. well i have nothing to do on my days off either been and had a look head gasket set £170 both heads skimmed about £60 ect if its just the gasket engines from about £200-£700 think ill just get another engine and use the other for spares its only money after all what else would i spend it on oh food
  20. yeah i know im an idiot dont think any thing has bent though turns over easy just wont start ill get it sorted this is an engine out job? gives me a chance to give the bay a good clean lol
  21. went out for a blast today with my dodgy radiator :blushing: :crying:(it leaks) ran out of water on the m6 overheated lost power bit of oil and water on the floor turns over wont start £185 to get recovered home have i blown the head gasket or worse seems to have no compresion :crying: just nead to confirm this befor i start to pull it apart
