  4. Hi guys. Just another plea for help really. I changed the rear near side wheel bearing because of the awful noise coming from that side, the noise stopped when i went around a left hand turn so by diagnosis ended at the wheel bearing. Ive replaced the diff oil too just in case. Anyway, i finished the wheel bearing and took it for a quick run to enjoy the noise free drive, not the case... the noise is still there and if anything has gotten worse while its been stood having the bearing work done. Any ideas of what it could be. I simply do not understand as the wheel bearing was bad and looked well worn when i swapped it, i thought for sure it was that. Ive had a manual conversion done recently and new engine. The diff is original tho if that makes a difference. Also, if anyone is close to Oxford who could take a look that woud be ideal, im obviously happy to pay. Many thanks.
  5. Finally today ive managed to remove the damaged wheel bearing and hub. Not a straight forward affair at all. The hub was completely jammed on with minor rust and heat from the bad bearing. It took a huge amount of effort to remove but finally after three week or more, its off and ready for the new bearing... I couldn't get to the 4 bolts because it was just frozen solid so lump hammer and force took over, hitting the edge of the hub as close as possible to avoid damage elsewhere. It took me and a very experienced engineer over and hour of continued hammering with a very heavy duty bearing puller in place to get the first glimpse of movement. Its done, reverse imminent and hopefully have a rolling Zed soon.
  6. Hi guys, Now i know this will be something of a known issue. I had a noise from my rear near side and noticed that when i went around a left hand corner the noise would stop, i self diagnosed a wheel bearing?? Any thoughts? Not diff oil BTW!! So, ive got a replacement wheel bearing already pressed into a hub. so ive got all the items off from the rear wheel. The wheel, the disc and the centre bolt, the hand brake bits and bobs, Which by the way i may need a diagram to reinstall. What im left with is the four bolts at the back which i cant get to because the drive shaft is in the way. It should just slide off with a bit of encouragement surely? I've given that bad boy more than a touch of willingness to leave its seat... not a touch of movement. I've got a bearing puller on at the moment as tight as poss. Im told that i need to tap the end of the shaft... i didn't want to hit it too hard in case of damage. Any information, suggestions diagrams or the like would be greatly received... ive spent nearly three weeks trying to get this bearing out... starting to grip my S@@T!! Thanks
