  1. Hope ya got the problem sorted. When I opened the switch there was one obvious joint that was definitely seriously lacking in solder so I did the needful plus re-soldered all the main connections as advised by the boys above. Cheers y'all and thanks again.
  2. Cheerz folkz. A blessing on all your houses and indeed your Zeds. Did the soldering and all workz az new. Haven't stopped smiling. Once again, my appreciation. S PS: Bin tryin' to post this reply for the third time so if all three appear you will know why.
  3. Cheerz again. I'll get at the soldering then. Not my greatest talent but reckon I'll be better at it when I'm finished. Thanks again.
  4. Took the switch apart and re-connected it without the casing and it worked in fits and starts so it seems you folks are right. Thanks again. When you say solder ALL the joints do you mean just that or only the eight connector block joints? There is a total of 'bout 60(ish) soldered joints on the circuit board. S
  5. CheerZ and many thanks for the quick response. the box looks sealed but I'll take it off and here's hoping. Thankz again S
  6. My drivers side electric window has taken fits of stops and starts. Could work for weeks then nothing. The black switch behind the door panel is clicking when I try to use it but that's all, the motor won't work. I read on the forum that it probably means the motor is kaput. Does anyone know what other Nissan uses the same motor or where I can get one. CheerZ, S
  7. Much obliged folks. Will get in touch with the 'supraspecialists' folk
  8. Cheers folks. thank's for getting back to me. I'll start where Moggy suggests, the prop bearing. I'll certainly report back on my progress as this seems to be common. Strange though, I've owned about seven Zeds in my time and this is the 1st time I've come accross this problem. Thanks again, S
  9. Me again folks. I'm going to get this problem sorted sooner rather than later as the vibration is getting worse. Suggestions have ranged from prop bearing to prop shaft to gear box mounts etc. Now that it is slightly worse I am getting a feel of a roughness or rasping that I would reckon would come from a kaput bearing so I will start with this and gear box mounts. My question now is, where is the best source for all this stuff. I live in NI and there are no zed specialists so if there is anyone who knows a good outlet PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know. Ta in advance
  10. It's at the base of the seat & can be felt through the drivers & passenger floor pan. I originaly thought, and hoped, it was the wheels but I had already bought new 17"'s and fitted these after getting them balanced the vib was still there. Comes in at 40mph and is a grating/vibration. Not so noticable at 60/70mph but is's still there. I was going to replace the centre bearing but someone told me the one piece prop shaft could be bought for almost the same price but as yet I haven't been able to source one. Could the gearbox mount def give the same symptons. I reckon this would be a much less expensive start to the process of elimination. Cheers
  11. I'm not much good on the mechanical front but am feeding my mechanic all the advice I'm getting here. He's always been 100% +with all my vehicles in the past, mostly 4WD's. He has checked everything in so far as he can without taking it apart but there is nothing obvious. I'll pass this suggestion as well. Many thanks.
  12. I'm in Norn Iron as well, Portstewart, so hopefully we'll get it sorted. I'm gonna fit a all-in-one prop to see if it sorts the prob. Where 'bouts are you at?
  13. Cheers pk, thanks for the reply. i certainly won't skimp on the quality once I find a source. Is that your zed in the photo?
  14. Hi y'all. I've been on before 'bout vibration and got a couple of replies suggesting it may be the centre bearing on the prop shaft. I got a mechanic to check it out and he said he could find nothing that was obviously faulty with the bearing or any other joint or coupling. My question is, as I was going to order a new bearing and have it fitted as a process of elimination, would I be better fitting a new one piece prop shaft? Any pros and cons and also does anyone know the best place to source these. Cheers, S
  15. Cheers y'all, think i'll jus' let it stay down and pretend it's not there. Pretend what's not there? It's gone.
