UK 300 looking good
I apologise in advance for any typos as I'm on my phone. Firstly I can't tell you what the car is worth. It's your wallet and your money and I'm not selling it, I'm just linked to its history. Like I said, I paid 6k 18 months back and put a few thousand into it. I don't know what your experience with cars is like so it's hard for me to quantify what you'd think of as a big deal. It's on it's original turbos and coming up to 70,000 miles. Make of that what you will. I would personally be looking at them very closely if I was buying a similarly aged and mileage vehicle. These aren't cheap cars to run. A £6k car that's 21 years old will not be as sorted as a £6k car that's 5 years old for example. I'm sure other forum members that aren't into modding and that run stock cars will attest to horrendous running costs through routine maintenance, petrol and the things that are less than expected. If you're anticipating buying a £6k 21 year old Japanese car with near supercar performance (for the age) and spending nothing on maintaing it then you're probably looking at the wrong car. If you want decent tyres you're looking at well over £150 for each rear. That could be a lot if you're coming from something like a Golf and usually pay £50 a corner. Would I buy another 300zx? Yes. But would I buy at the top end of the price bracket? No. It's 21 years old. Good condition, but used. Stuff just eventually doesn't work as well as it used to. In my personal opinion a £2k car with £4k of engine rebuild, turbos and uprated suspension would be money better spent.

EP3 Civic Type R. Cracking car, really good fun. Shame it's FWD but with practicality comes sacrifices I guess. Pulsar GTIR would have been nice but, rarity, maintenance and age are heavily stacked against it for me.

I don't think that would be fair to the garage and I'm concerned about liability for even admitting to be the previous owner on a public forum. I'll just reiterate my point of being careful when bidding them on it and ensuring that it's started from cold. In turbo cars, considering that it is the original set of turbos, that is also something to look at carefully. I didn't want to go through the rigors of selling privately as I needed something better suited to my needs and didn't fancy potentially waiting ages for a sale. Even though it's possible I would have gotten more money for it than what I chopped it in for. It drives well. No mods and as far as I know hasn't ever been dicked about with. I think Jimmer volunteered to check it out, from lurking on the forums he knows his eggs and could tell you the ins and outs mechanically better than I could.

Hi guys, The one OP posted about was mine. Thought I'd take a look on here to see if anyone spotted it for sale and they clearly had. I part Ex'd her as I have a big dog now and me and the missus have a baby on the way so the 'practical' nature of the car didn't really exist any more ;). I don't want to slam the car as it was precious to me and I'd love to see it go to a good home. But in reality it is a Z and as we all know they have their faults, this one included, so chaps, if anyone is interested then be careful when negotiating the price, and as with any car start it from cold. I'm not going to talk about prices as like you guys, I want to see the prices of these beauties driven upwards so don't ask what I got for it. It wouldn't be fair on the garage. What I will say is it's currently for sale at what I paid for it 18 months ago. I think Jeff has seen the best part of £2k from my wallet to sort the car out mechanically, but to be honest it could use a bit more cash throwing at it. Oh, and if anyone wondered I went for a hot hatch, Japanese obviously. :)

Something is broken...
All sorted now guys. I'm not sure what 'number' injector was at fault but it was the front left connector that seemed to be loose, popped back in and she's running better than she has for months. I assume it's been making its way out for a while based on how good it felt to drive earlier. Many many thanks !

Okay nice one thanks, if there's a gap in the rain today I'll try the suggestion above about unplugging and plugging things back in. I'm not exactly stranded by it as I use a motorbike most of the time and I work from home it's just a bit frustrating more than anything else! Thanks for everyones hep so far, definitely a step in the right direction I think!

Cheers for that, great little tip. I'll keep it bookmarked. Unfortunately I'm getting 55 which seems that, by their reckoning at least, there are no errors.

So disconnect the batt and try just pushing each connector in to make sure there's nothing loose?

Hi all, Wondered if you could help with this one, I'd usually ring up Jeff and book her in up in Birmingham but this one is leaving me reluctant to drive the ~125mi up there. Idle is rough, really rough. Car is rocking a bit kinda rough. It gets progressively worse up until about 3,000 RPM then it's a little better but the exhaust note is not how it usually is. It doesn't seem to boost to more than about the 0PSI mark so I'm assuming I'm in safety boost also? It sorta sounds a bit like a tractor so I'm again assuming I'm down a cylinder. I suspect it could be an injector but I'm not positive. I'm mechanically inclined but not mechanically knowledgeable about 300s despite owning mine for about a year now. It's a 1991 twin turbo, UK and manual if that makes any difference. All 6 injectors were replaced up with Jeff last September with used parts and everything has been fine until now. I've also read about det sensors possibly being an issue? I don't have access to any ODB scanners so I couldn't tell you if I'm getting any fault codes. Any help/advice would be great!

how many people have had speeding tickets?
Got caught at 93 on the motorway a couple of years ago. I'm pretty used to seeing cops in camera vans on motorway bridges and I know from driving the same route for the past few years exactly where they are. On this occasion it was a motorcycle on a bridge with some weird contraption on a tripod. I'm pretty into bikes and I've been riding longer than driving. I could tell it was probably a Honda pan european from a good distance which should have prompted me to slow down. I saw it a long way off but I'd never seen a cop using that tactic before, I'd just assumed it was a motorcyclist taking a photo or something. By the time I saw the police livery on the bike it was too late.
