  1. Front hoses replaced and now cured. Guessing that the pistons need to 'rock' back and forth in these straight cut seals and need a few miles to settle which explains why they were still stuck on when the nipples were opened...
  2. Have released the pressure in both calipers and still binding also just checked the free play and have 3 or 4mm. Could the prob be with the ABS pump?
  3. I think it probably is the hoses it was only the fact that both discs lock up. I have a pair of goodrich hoses for the front but they are missing the connectors on one end otherwise I would have fitted them when I did the calipers.
  4. That was my next move to release the pressure, the pistons are free as I am able to push on each pad with a screwdriver and this will push each pair of pistons back in until there is clearance. The pads are only part worn and the discs have a very minimal lip I think I'll also take out the shims and see if it makes a difference as if either is warped then this might explain the symptom. Thanks
  5. Yes I cleaned the bores and grooves and assembled with plenty of fluid. Seems that all 4 pads and all 8 pistons aren't returning. Thanks anyway
  6. I have a problem with the front brakes sticking on. I have replaced the rear calipers with new ones and also fitted some braided brake lines. The front calipers have been stripped down and new seals and dust covers fitted, all the bores and pistons are good condition. I dismantled a good master cylinder and re assembled without using a refurb kit as it all looks good. The brakes continue to stick on even when cold so I'm guessing there is either a problem with the original rubber front hoses (both sides failing at the same time would seem odd) or maybe something wrong with the ABS pump?? I've also loosened the nuts on the master cylinder to clear it from the servo rod, still binding..... Any suggestions welcomed Thanks
  7. Just gave them a call and was advised that $30 would cover a box that contained the gear shifter, front caliper rebuild kit, caliper hard pipes and a big handful of nuts bolts grommets and clips etc, ordered it... so watch this space... ( I'm avoiding saying your name out loud in case you appear)
  8. Thanks it's about the same from conceptz at $67 + $20 postage for a small package with a couple of other lightweight parts I need,ie front brake caliper recon kit front brake pipes etc. Cheers
  9. I can only find Nissan of Duarte on the net, do you have a link to their website or an address please? Cheers

  11. Was looking myself today and it looks like the import duty is fairly low but you still have to pay the 20% VAT on the purchase cost
  12. Hi, does anyone have a good original OEM manual gear knob for sale? Also looking for a new power steering hose (the long one) or a supplier that can make one? Thanks a lot! Colin
  13. Do you mean bump start? Haven't tried it.
  14. Not checked but there was pressure the other day when I removed the fuel relay to remove the plenum, tha car starts fine once warmed up unless I leave it for 30-40 mins then it needs cranking. I will check fuel pressure in the morning. maybe I'll change the fuel pressure regulator as well thanks

  18. Hi all, I have a Manual 1991 Twin Turbo that has had a staarting issue for some time... Tha car was hard to start from cold and would just catch after 20-30 turns and drove fine but after stopping for 30-40 mins would again be hard to start. So I changed the air regulator and the car started first turn from cold, however after a few days the car would begin to have the same problem. I changed the air regulator a further 3 times and the IAA valve once with the same result, would work fine the first few days then back to sq 1. Last week I fitted a new timing belt, tensioner and idlers and removed the plenum, deleted the EGR valve and deleted the coolant pipes for the throttle bodies. Also replaced PCV valves and most of the split and loose rubber hoses associated with the PCV vave and Air regulator/IAA. Fitted a different Plenum with a known good regulator and IAA Also has a Series 2 PTU Started first turn! Happy Days! Started fine the first couple of days 3 days later the car is hard to start from cold....etc etc I am about to change the ECU, I have many but want to fit one intended for a manual TT but I don't have the serial no's to check. Any suggestions would be appreciated Thanks
