Anyone been to a sleep clinic?
I went to a sleep clinic about 6 years ago as I wasnt sleeping well and my wife said I stopped breathing. I arrived around 9 in the evening and was put in a room on my own. A nurse then strapped some wires to my chest, a heart monitor to my finger and a mask over my mouth and nose to monitor my breathing. Then I was left alone to go to sleep. Didnt have any problem going to sleep there, it was a quiet room. Was woken up next morning around 7 and told to make an appointment for a couple of weeks for results. In my case I had sleep apnea, for every hour of sleep I stopped breathing 72 times! So basically I stopped breathing, gasped for breath, stopped breathing... Never got to REM sleep, which is why I felt so bad. Sleep apnea does affect 'larger' people, but in my case I was told that even if I had the body of an olympic athlete it wouldn't help. I now sleep with a CPAP machine pumping air down my nose, forcing my windpipe to stay open - it has helped me a lot, although I still have problems every now and then, especially when I get a cold!

Whats your biggest win on the lottery?
On my own - £96 for 4 numbers. In a syndicate - my share was £147 for 5 numbers. The sixth number in the draw that week was 26, we had number 25!!

What colour calipers
I agree - you should add 'Keep as they are' to the poll!

At the end of my tether
Yes, my CPAP machine even comes on holiday with us! Its the size of a shoebox, so not too much of a problem. Steams, you could go herbal and try valerian. It's available in health stores in capsules, you just take one or two before bedtime. I know a few people that have had some success with these.

At the end of my tether
I had to go to a sleep clinic a few years ago as I never slept well, used to fall asleep at my desk at work and even stopped breathing whilst I slept. I was put in a room on my own and hooked up to a few monitors, then left on my own. Nobody was watching me! The nurse did pop in occasionally to check on me. Turned out I had sleep apnea, my windpipe relaxes too much when I sleep and closes. I stop breathing for around 20 seconds, gasp for breath, stop breathing, gasp for breath. Happens all night, so I never got to proper REM sleep. Thanks to sleep clinic finding this out I now sleep with a machine pumping air through my nose forcing my throat open. Still dont sleep brilliantly, specially when I have a cold, but it really helps. So I would definately recommend spending a night in the clinic, they are best qualified to help you out.

Mechanics in Essex?
Hi All, I'm looking at buying Sky89's NA 300zx. Had a look last night, it's a great car but does need some work doing to it. The main thing at the moment is that it needs a new cambelt. I'm looking for recommendations for a decent mechanic to do this for me, along with general servicing. I live near Chelmsford in Essex. Would appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction. Cheers, Colin
