  1. Bugger - have just done this conversion  but haven't driven it on the road as yet as need to do MOT. At least it'll be fast in a straight line!
  2. Changed the PTU and it started immediately!!!!!!!! Thank you everyone, am over the moon!
  3. Yup, will swap them over tomorrow & give it a try.
  4. The CAS is ok I think as ECU didn't register any faults, also changed out the coil packs. I'm going to test the PTU, it's somewhere in the electrical system. Just had a thought, the TT engine is a series 1 (1990), and the wiring loom is series 2 (1993)- is there a difference in the wiring for the PTU between the series? The connectors seem the same. Again, if anyone has any further ideas they'd be most appreciated!
  5. Thanks for replying, have a new battery, alternator good & tensioned, PTu is plugged in 9checked & re-checked), engine turns over, changed the spark plugs for new ones and also changed coilpacks just in case. Tried all variations & still no spark....
  6. I've just done a conversion from a UK 300zx TT manual (Gumball 3000's old car) to a NA SWB Convertible Auto, changed the engine, ECU, Boost controller, manual box etc, but the flippin thing won't start. Have done the auto box relay by-pass under the drivers footwell, did the ECU check (showed 55 - all good), removed the fuel pump fuse to check if there was a flood but no joy. Both cars were working fine before the conversion. I removed one of the spark plugs but not getting any spark although there is some voltage getting there. Engine is turning over & fuel pressure good, can any body help with what could be the issue with no spark at plugs? Almost bald from pulling my hair out so any help would be very much appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Legrath, Just in the middle of a LWB zxTT manual swop to a NA auto convertible, could sure use your help, is there any chance you could text me on 07515 546 494 & I'll call you back? Cheers Roy
  8. Just Subscribed! :hyper:  Couldn't see the place I could add reference number despite using the link :headvswal ! Will add transaction id from Paypal when if finally arrives, been waiting 30 mins and it hasn't yet  Fantastic Club by the way , as I've finally decided to keep my TT, will be making the most of it! Cheers Roy.
  9. For the last several years, I've had my heart set on a Porsche 911 (996) Carrera 4 Cab (apologies in advance - work with muppets in Canary Wharf and it get's to you after awhile!), and finally had enough saved for a deposit on a T reg Tiptronic with all the options. Anyway, I went to Coventry to drive the car - and apart from it being very well put together, it was such a let down because it didn't fell any better than my Zed. I couldn't justify spending £35K on a car that (in my view!) only does what the Zed does anyway. Granted it looks more modern & having a cabriolet this summer would've been great, but the Zed always puts a smile on my face. I've always looked my Zed as a temporary vehicle until I got the Porsche, but I now view it in a new light. So, gonna spend the deposit I saved on doing the Zed up! Cheers Roy
  10. A friend of mine has an Imported Toyota MR 2 Turbo (No comment!), and he's always had really cheap insurance through his club. When he was 26 (5 years ago), he bought the car with many modifications already done, and now it put's out around 300 Bhp and all the mods have been disclosed and it's never costed him more than £300 a year fully comp on an agree valuation of about £9K. The MR2 Owners Club have a deal with Dorset Insurance Group - (http://www.dorsetinsurancegroup.co.uk) - is this something this club could do as well? I pay close to a grand, 33, full NCB's living in London. I'm about to commence spending a heap of money on upgrading my car, and know my premiums are gonna go through the roof (T-top...) with what I'm planning to do. Cheers Roy.
  11. Will subscribe as soon as I figure out how!
  12. Thanks for the info guys, I was searching for info on LPG kits for the TT as I often go back and fore to Wales (500 mile round trip). I can't see that anyone has done it, but apparently lpg kits have come on a long way and do work on Turbo's. I'm prepared to buy the DIY kit, if anyone is interested in helping, would be greatly appreciated. It may be a waste of money and screw up the car, but I'm going to do it for the hell of it in summer! If you see a burnt out wreck on here for sale, you know it went wrong. Also, if anyone wants the DVD nav, in dash DVD and Display stuff, give me a shout. Cheers Roy.
  13. Thanks for that, will check the fuel lines. Also, any ideas what sort of BHP it's been uprated to with the mods? Cheers Roy.
