no, if its a combi it wont make any difference turning valves off, its maybe a stuck vavle

yup, a combi wont fire up if its hot and has no where to push the hot water to. another thing that says to me that the rad valves are stuck shut, take the thermostatic head off and make sure the other valve is fully open, looking at the other valve turn it to the right all the way, if it doesnt move turn it to the left to make sure it moves back to rule out it aint stuck shut aswell pull the piston up and down a few times with pliers to make sure its working correctly tis a combi you have aint it

leave the heating on when the piston pops up, it may have been jammed, combi's dont usually suffer from air locks, if it aint heating up then its deffo a valve prob

because a combi is pressurised no matter which way it run, if it goes in one way at pressure it goes out the other way in the same pressure, its like an innertube, if its upto pressure no matter where is bursts it will still be the same pressure

pmsl, dont hit anything with a hammer if it is on plastic pipes, it will shoot off and piss water all over also if its a combi, unless both valves are shut off it will still piss water out if you try and bleed it as its all under pressure

wow, its nice for someone to realise its two L's lol there are loads of cars i like because of the way they look and drive and its nothing to do with the badge, but the prob is bmw and mercedes make some nice cars that everyone will like im going for an e46 bmw m3 convertible next, its not the badge that makes me buy it but the way it looks sounds and drives that has convinced me, i would even buy it if it had a lada badge on it

i know sometimes the other valve that hasnt got the temp head on can be turned off, also if it has a plastic cover on and is screwed in, when turning the screw it can turn the valve off

could be faulty valve, what sort of system is it, is it a combi?? also is the lock sheild valve turned on, if it has a thermostatic valve remove the head (the bit you turn with the tempm markings on) there will be a pin underneath it, get some pliers and gently try and pull the pin up, is any of the pipes at each side hot????

well in the bedsits we hae poiund slot meters where you can see the disc going round, when the light is o with the old bulbs it whizzes round, but when a low energy bulb is in it dont even move, so there is a hooge difference

no, gu10 are two prong light fitting halogen bulbs, these are just the normal bayonet fitting low energy bulbs, they are made by philips and are classed as 20 watt but are the same as the old 100 watt bulb, you can even get 23 watt bulbs, the same as 2 60 watt bulbs, asda were selling them for £1 for 2 but had none left today they are much better than the first low energy bulbs

just bought some new 100 watt equivalnet low energy bulbs and i must say im impressed with them, they used to be shite and very dim and took ages to warm up, but the new ones light up quickly and get toi full working order in a min or so gonna change the rest of the house now
