  4. feck feck feck wonder why its not good acelaration and wonder why one side of the engine bay is black also why do the invoices for belt change have a uk reg what was the milage it had the belt changed ? to be honest m8 my m8 payed 4k for one that was worse than that body wise but the aceleration wories me wonder why that is is it possible its threw up a fault code on the ecu like the knock sensor and its went into saftey boost ? there is one down south thats 340 miles away from me its an 89 with 48k on the clock all post it up see what you think

  6. hey peeps as some of you know i arrive in belfast tomorrow at 9 to go see a z what things should i be looking out for things i have so far make sure i hear it start from cold check the ecu for fault codes check for smoke from turbos whines from diff or gearbox and crunching gear changes check rear diff for oil leak check engine for oil leaks check coolant and fan kicks in is there a diy on here that shows you how to check the ecu i know with my celica i bridged two connections with a paper clip and red the engine light flash on the dash body work wise check sills and rear arches front wings secure am sure i have missed loads as i have never owned one before

Hi peeps was just thinking do I really need to change the water pump and crank and cam seals when I do the 60k belt change I know this is a high performance 300bhp monster but ave never had to do that on a timing belt change normally just tensioner and belt Don't get me wrong have never worked on a Nissan and as engines go you really don't be wanting to put a foot wrong on this one My gt4 was high performance a mere 220 bbl and that was just belt and tensioner

  12. right basicly i am flying to ireland to look at a z and if all goes ok buy it now i will have to come back on the ferry from belfast to stranrear what i want to do is just turn up on the day if i buy the car and pay for my ticket if i dont buy the car i want to fly back is it possible to do this anyone know have emailed stenna not heard anything back and have googled aswell

  15. right looked on a few sites at 120 k you have to change belt tensioner camshaft seals etc etc but i am doing 60k belt change so is it just the belt ?
  16. right peeps need some help if possible i have an 02 bmw compact insured with direct line 6 years no claims fully comp cover ends next year jan and i have my partner as a name driver think she has about 3 years no claims now if i buy this z from ireland am gonna have to insure and i need the six years no claims but its on the beemer policy would i be beter getting my partner to insure the beemer put me down as a name driver and i insure the z this way i get to use my six years no claims oh yea direct line wont cover me for theft on the z unles its got imobiliser and a tracker all fit an imobilser but i aint fitting a tracker so will have to be with another company any help would be g8 :thumbup1:
  17. where did you buy your kit i have been told only to use a genuine nissan cam belt for obvious reasons lol ah dont mind doing this stuff its one of the reasons i can afford to run a z cause i can tackle the oily bits i know what you mean though dosent bear thinking about does it
  18. god dam that was a nice right up not sure am gonna use distilled water for the coolant though i do live in bonnie scotland kin will have to string this bad boy out though alot of work all be it at the front of the engine i aint in no rush and if i was doing these evryday probs would be easy but all take my time get it right mrs will be well pissed off all miss my cups of coffe and probs my tea lol why do i get the feeling these cars are a bassa to work on i dont even own one and just by looking they look like a fecker to work on lol am i wrong ?

  20. alrighty peeps looking into buying a 300zx tt its got no history other than a recipt for exedy clutch and 18 inch alloys the car has done 70k so i have to assume its not had the cam belt done so gonna have to do never done one on a z have done a few belts on 8v and 16v last being a celica what other things are best to change when you have the belt off ? new tensioner water pump ? anything else just trying to factor in the cost of evrything
  21. its bule/gray smoke only out one exhaust aswell only on tickover when hot apparently the guy i bought it off took it to nissan who said it was not pvc valves but changed pvc pipes the car is sold anyway witch i am rather gutted about within owning the car for 2 weeks and driving her mabey 3 times i see why you guys love your z,s and put up with there niggles i will defo be getting anotherone will have to be a unmolested tt manual but there getting herd to find these days but will be after start of next year methinks thanks for the info guys
  22. right just want to confirm what i think is already wrong with this z the car drives and boost fine but when the car i warmed up and on tickover it burns oil out the exhaust i am guessing this is one of the turbo seals failing is it not? 11 feb 05 it had a 69k tt engine with turbos fitted am i right or could it be a whole host of other things dont know mutch about these motors have worked on celicas before not had on nissans
