:scared: I am getting Natasha a fish! Haven't had goldfish before, got the tank today, medium sized to fit up to 5 fish, with a pump. Any tips? I know I have to put the water in then leave it a few days before putting the fish in. The tank is second hand so I need to clean that, I'm assuming I can only use hot water, no detergent, not that it looks dirty. Was hoping to set the tank up tomorrow then take Tash shopping for fish and assorted Spongebob Squarepants toys for the tank lol!

I've got mine with Lynbrook on a classic policy and I am old so its not really comparing like with like - might be worth asking some of the youngsters on here what they pay for their Zeds as daily drivers? Think I pay about £280 a year fully comp, its really low anyway but if your son has his own insurance, got some no claims then he might find its not too big a shock if he shops around. Recently i found More Than came up trumps with the cheapest for me and also Aviva (who aren't on the comparison websites) Obviously the running costs for a 3.0l Zed, even an n/a will be significantly higher than a Corsa, but I can't complain about the fuel economy on long runs, I did Teesside to Alton Towers and back again on £38 of petrol in Sept!

If I still have the car in Jan (quite likely, I won't undersell this car lol) then by all means tell him to come and see it. I drive all over the town in it, and it is most definitely the ONLY yellow zed here. In fact don't think there is another Zed in Middlesbrough - Redcar yes, Stockton yes but not Boro!

Nobody even gets to see the car without some sort of proof that they're in a position to buy. Had so many tyre kickers in the past - 1 woman turned up, test drove my micra then said she liked it but needed to sell hers first :mad2: And I def don't want to add anyone on Facebook as am always getting odd men wanting to add me on there lol

I don't think anyone could argue with that to be honest - and speaking from my own experience, I would rather do something constructive than sit on my fat ass doing nowt all day!

I've moved house that many times that I haven't got any stuff to get rid of any more (not that any of it was worth anything!) Always feels good to have a massive clearout though. My task when I have a day off next week, is to sort out my daughter's bedroom ready for xmas! she cannot move in there for cuddly toys but she plays with them all!! (think she has some sort of cuddle rotation system so that they all get a turn in her bed lol) God knows where I'm giong to put her xmas presents tho! Have fun rummaging, even if you don't find anything of value at least you can make space for more cr@p lol and laugh at old photos

Very good news!! Marc recently decided to get rid of loads of his old DVDs, he got a good amount of money really for stuff that was essentially just gathering dust! I have only ever worn silver (apart from my old wedding ring) so my bling isn't worth anything!

you touched on an intersting point in your earlier post about the goverment giving businesses incentives to move to other parts of the UK where investment is needed. Do you remember the "Make a break for Bristol" campaign? Similar thing happened where big businesses were given incentives to move to Bristol - I think quite a few of the big insurance companies set up head offices there, like Churchill and Direct Line. I LOVE living in the North (and I'm a Southerner born and bred) - weather is terrible compared to the sunny climes of Pompey but despite Boro's bad image and reputation, the surrounding countryside and beaches more than make up for that - and the roads out accross the moors - second to none! Had a drive out there last night - FAB!

Interestingly, Middlesbrough was recently noted as the worse hit place in the UK for jobs because most of us work in the public sector (myself included). The government's planned cuts have already started hitting the local economy. Its sad to see because I can see in the 7 years that I've lived here, that Teesside was beginning to flourish a little, local areas had facelifts, there were more jobs for a while, and there has been good local investment. Sadly with the closure of CORUS and now these cuts, the place is doomed. Its sad. I doubt I'll be living here once me and Marc qualify as nurses
