  1. Just wondered if its anyone on here, looked great... i was incognito in a clio :detective:
  2. tis true... i got turbo back system, just wondered if its worth goin stainless manifold while the engine is out
  3. its a manual, from reading all your advice i'll leave the box in and just take the block out. Im sure theres lots of friendly Z fans here to offer more advice or help if needed :) x
  4. can you get better flowing cast ones or is it best to just stick with the original ones? i put a stainless manifold on my S13 and it made a hell of a difference so just wondered if it was the same case with the z..
  5. Im gonna take all the front off and see if i can tease it out the top/front, i'll let you know!
  6. Thanks Tudor... Good idea, I've got plenty of coloured cable ties that i used to use for sound systems. I've got a few contacts in the motor trade so im sure i can blag something :)
  7. Im swapping my blown engine for a non blown one shortly (:surrender:), turbos will come off and be rebuilt, thoughts on exhaust manifold options while its accessable?
  8. Thanks for the advice guys, I'll take lots of pics and label lots.. Must find a hoist first! lol
  9. Ha! Dont get like that! :) I dont quite have your level of skill yet Jedi master!
  10. As above! Any tips hints? This will be my first VG30 swap...
  11. compression was done after, only driven it for about a week and a half before the turbos went. He did the compression test as a 'just in case' before i committed to replacing the turbos.. extra costs etc.
  12. in his words.. combustion should be at 100psi, 1,2 and 3 cylinder are at 130, 4 is at 105, 5 is at 95 and 6 is at 93psi any thoughts?
  13. dont know, my mechanic told me the compression was low. he just fitted a new cambelt, the car started misfiring shortly after the turbos gave up :(
  14. Im glad I had the engine compression tested before committing to taking the lump out for a turbo refurb, 1,2 and 3 are fine... 4 and 5 are down 40% 6 is down 45%!! I cant afford to get my engine rebuilt, so im guessing my only other option is another engine then do the turbo rebuild... it looks like the engine's gotta come out anyways! :crying: Does anyone have an engine for sale?? *sighs*
  15. I'll be there, if my turbos have'nt completely given up the ghost by then! If not then I'll commandeer a volvo ;)
