  1. 10w40 or 5w30 semi synthetic depends what mods your running.
  2. Mine is a 93 on an L reg UK spec
  3. Hi all, just a quick question, but where can you get a decatted zx mot'd (in north west)? Cheers
  4. Hi all I have a 93 TT auto (UK Spec) and my diff light has come on. The diff itself is rather wet and greasy (not water more oil consistency) is the diff goosed or can you just replace the seals?
  5. Mine had shaking under breaking at 30-40mph and i had to rebuild the callipers and Put renew the break fluid and that cured the problem.
  6. I am swapping all interior, it does have leather heated seats so if anyone needs any feel free to make me offer. It needs all new tyres anyway now after a few track days they are rather low on tread. When I fitted new discs and pads (3 weeks ago) I had to rebuild all calumets and bleed them through so shouldn't be any moisture. What's the best mods to do for 500hp?
  7. Ha I have done a little bit of work on mates scooby but even scooby to zx is a massive jump but I am not going to rush it so it should be ok. I am aiming for about 500hp and a manual conversion. I am not really putting a budget on it unroll I have stripped it down see what needs changing or repairing (more it costs the longer the project takes). (I have already done an engine change on the zx as I blew last one up (on the day i bought it) melted a piston and bit of the block as previous owner cranked boost up with out chipping ecu)
  8. Hi all just after a little bit of advice for my zx over winter. I am taking it off the road this week and rebuilding it over the next 6-8 months. The car will be covered with a water resistant car cover but is there anything else I should do to protect it as I don't want it rotting away or seizing up. I am also going to take pads out. As discs and pads are brand new. Reason for taking zx off road is due to a tapetty / sticking valve noise from rear passenger cylinder so I need to strip it down and have a look plus I am going to do big power and weight reduction mods ready for nurburgring in June. Any advice on prep for winter and modifications are welcome as I am new to zx's and jap cars. Only rebuilt original minis before this zx, so should be fun as it's a massive step up. Thanks all Dave
  9. Normally if auto gearbox is goosed your best doing a manual conversion (kits sometimes available in items for sale section - about £500ish) that's what I'm ping to do when my auto box dies Good luck Dave
  10. If you are willing to travel to Preston (Leyland) with it a friend of mine Ian is manager at oakwell garage and auto electricians he has rebuilt a few zx's he might be able to help. Tel: 01772 453836 ask for Ian (tell him dave c from Motosave recommended you) he may even do it as private job save you some money
  11. I had that on my zx and i needed to drain brake fluid, put new brake fluid in and rebuild a caliper as it wasn't tightening on the disc evenly. On mine it was shaking at any speed over 20 but faster ou do more aggressive the wobble was. Hope this helps.
  12. on my zx there is a diff oil light next to the engine check light, will have a look this afternoon see if i can spot a boost leak might also check plugs and see if they are ok (but they are only 1000 miles old so should be ok). Thanks for your help mate
  13. Hi all, Could do with a little help / advice as i am having a couple of problems with my Z32 TT. Firstly the diff oil light started coming on this week. i have had look at the back of the diff, where normally there are two plugs one top to fill up the oil and one at the bottom to drain, but these arent there so where are they located on the Z? Also when i start my car from cold it wants to cut out and i have to genltly press the throttle for about 15-20sec (only upto about 1000rpm) and then when i take my foot off the revs fluctuate for about another 15sec and then it has a steady idle. Has anyone had this problem and know what the fix is? Cheers Dave
  14. Ha I watched an old top gear 'rear wheel drive challenge' last night when Hammond had a 300zx, Clarkson said 300zx are porn stars cars. Ha cheers clarky. New topgear was ok but I hope it doesn't start loosing it's mojo. Rolling over the reliant was good fun to watch though.
  15. Will do cheers for help guys
