  1. These are 18" I believe - any bigger and it would start looking out of proportion...
  2. I have been thinking similar, though the Zed has already gone. I bought a 57 plate Mazda 3 Sport 2.0 thinking it would be a compromise and although I really like it, I miss having something to tinker with. I am now looking at MR2s and MX-5s in order to build a track/fast road car. Can't decide which one to go for at the moment though.
  3. Thanks very much guys. Spent the day on the sofa as I am off work with a knackered hip. Catching up with my Sky+ however. All the best. Gareth
  4. It was me!!!! On my way to college for my Japanese course which starts at 7. The zed is in regular use at the moment as my daily driver (Vectra) finally kicked the bucket last week with its second head gasket failure. Where do you work then???
  5. The exhaust cam sprockets are four bolts, the inlet cam sprockets are a single 19mm bolt behind the gold coloured plate held on with 4 screws. When you take the plate off be careful as there is a spring behind it which is under compression. One piece of advise would be to crack the nuts before you remove the cam belt as it can be a pig to hold each sprocket in place to undo the bolts otherwise. You can use the cambelt 'wrap' technique (do a search on here and twinturbo.net) but I managed without. Gareth
  6. To be honest, you can do this job yourself in less than half an hour - especially if you have a pair of ramps, it's really easy. You can also buy the belts off ebay for about £20-£25 for the set. Gareth p.s. Don't use Hartwells - they are fricking useless. I speak from experience...
  7. Yes, it will be nice to have it back on the road but then after that the plan is to sell it. At the moment I have an W reg Vectra estate as a daily driver which is on its last legs. I need to get something else soon so I'm going to sell both cars and get something much newer but still with some 'sporting' ability. I just don't have the time to play around in the garage with cars any more, so need something I can just jump in and drive.
  8. I used the wifes digital SLR, the hi-res pictures really flatter the car, despite its age related battle scars.
  9. Does look better with the spoiler in my opinon, handles better too. Its being taxed from the end of the month. Its all MOTed and insured already I did a 60k service on it myself and changed all the camseals in order to cure an oil leak, it didn't!. Jeff at Zedworld gave me some pointers and a new pair of cam sprockets seem to have sorted it, but it mean't having to strip everything off a second time! Thanks Si, that is/was on the list of jobs. It did have one that was the correct size but it was in a cheezy font so I binned it. Thanks for all the positive comments! Gareth
  10. Having spent the last 6 months doing my own 60k service on the car (twice - don't ask) I have finally been able to wheel the car out of the garage. After giving it a clean I thought I'd take a few pictures as it came up quite well... It still needs a good polish and wax, but in the sun it looks ok to me. What do you think? Gareth
  11. Ironically, it's probably going up for sale at the end of the month, just waiting to re-tax it after doing the 60k service on it (twice:headvswal). Keep an eye on the classifieds!! Gareth
  12. Hi Keith, nice to see you back. You don't want your old one back do you? ;) :x: Gareth
  13. Just for info, the socket is 27mm. You'll need a fairly long bar to get enough leverage to turn the engine though.

It's actually the Skyline 350GT in Japan or Infiniti G35 in America. The G37 is related to the new 370Z, not the 350. The 350GT uses the same floorpan (extended) and engine as the 350Z, although all are imports and most are tiptronic. Gareth
  15. The standard wheels. The zed is perfectly proportioned for 18" wheels in my opinion rather than 16".
