youll be forever chasing the rust around there, also if its gone there the filler neck itself could also be rusted wouldnt be the first time iv seen them go. the head gaskets shouldnt be a worry aslong as both side have been skimmed and a new water pump cam belt and tensioner were fitted

all 4 turbo gaskets
nissan still sell them all, cant remember the part number but im sure theyll help you out if not try a turbo company they are all pretty much stranded fitments.

shameless self bump, and dose anyone know how much jeff/zedworld charge to change turbos and whats include or what else is needed?

how long would it take to burn off? its just that as soon as you slow down or have to come to a stop when your driving it just starts smoking heavly again and i dont really wonna do any damage if it is the turbos

nor am i really, i think its going to be turbo seals but i really dont want it to be. i dont really know what turbos to replace it with, mabye a job for zedworld but how much is it going to cost for new turbos

not too sure what happend with the old engine there was too much damage to tell piston rod block heads and both turbos were all damaged so i binned the lot. theres also no h bar in my exhaust system. it seems more then just oil in the back box tbh.

its white with a hint of blue it dose smell of burning oil. theres no loss in oil pressure and im using an after market oil pressure gauge, and its still boosting fine, were abouts in cambridgshire are you steams?

just a quick one really been trying to work it out and trying diffent things but no luck yet. ill give you the basic story, my old engine let go at about 90,000 so saved up and done the engine swap with some turbos from a friend that had no play in the spindles at all, one was a little tighter then the other tho(near side). finaly got it running at the start of the week on the ramp all run up fine no smoke no rattles, changed the oil and filter after i ran it up just to be sure. then iv taken it to get moted all was fine till i got there about 8miles away and it started to smoke quite alot on idle (white smoke),after it was left to go cold it was moted and was fine no smoke but now as soon as it gets to running temp it starts to smoke from the near side, iv checked the pcv valves and there was alittle oil on them but i cleaned them out and replaced one pipe that had cracked still smoking on idle and under boost aswell but not as much, it still boost fine and drives fine and its not used any oil, could this be turbo oil seals i really dont want it to be but i guess its all that could be left really, sorry for the long one guys im just a bit stuck thanks

Diff Oil and Lights warning problem!
yea fixed mine on saterday did turn out to be the 10amp fuse witch was nice easy fix for once also found out were my rattle was coming from, the dust cuver around the end of the prop had come lose and was making some noise so all in all a good day lol

ive also got this problem now any one got any idea's? leaving the battery disconected over night see if that cures it, anything else to look out for guys?

gear box/clutch help
the only one way i have of discribing it is if you put your foot on the clutch and rev it when its not in gear dose the same thing, i dont no if that helps anyone but its realy starting to bug me. tonight we tryed using race clutch and brake fluid so i has i higher boiling temp but still the same problem. so sofar its had new clutch friction plate pressure plate and release bearing, gear box oil and clutch bleed afew times is there anything im missing? thanks guys

changed the box oil today and bled the system, the oil that came out of the slave cylinder was like water so maby its boiling the oil as on the drive home it started agen, has anyone got any other idea's or things to try, not been the best start to z ownership =[

hello people im new to the 300zx ownership and had a bit of a bad start, iv brought a uk spec tt with manual conversion done and alwas well for a few days untill engine started to knock witch turned out to be bottem end so done and engine swap (found a low miliage lump for 600).when we done the engine swap we noticed that the clutch was on it way out so we thought it was ok when we took it out so itll be ok for alittle longer untill we took it out for its first drive. when on boost or changing gears fast it would grind like the clutch was not fully engaged but if you change gears slowly its fine. so i thought i would just bite the bullet and put a new clutch in as iv done today, but went to drive it home and low and behold the same problem. has anyone got any ideas as to would could be doing this, slow slave cylinder, air in the system or clutch adjustment as its racking my brain now thanks marc
