  1. Hello fellow ZedHeads. Came across a 300zx for sale on gumtree (or scumtree as some would call it), ad claims it's 1998 but don't they have the later style bumper. Also mileage of 38000, can this be taken seriously considering the age, origin and price.   2. I nearly bought this car. I actually feel I missed out as I now know it was very good value for money. Seems like a genuine and almost totally unmolested example and the motor pulled very strong (much more than the last zed I drove). Sorry to hear you have had a few issues, but I feel once these are sorted you'll be sweet. Some things I noticed where that there was noise from a fan between the targa tops and some small evidence of rust on one of the strut towers, no biggie for the money I'd say it was a bargain. A few pounds spent and you'll have an exceptional example.
  3. Alternatively you can play a waiting game and buy a well looked after sensibly modded example from this forum for circa £5K. 500hp for £5000, surely there is nothing that's better value than that.
  4. Recently it appears a few Zeds have joined the 500bhp club, and apparently with seemingly minor mods. Two questions; how much does it cost to turn a stock zed into a 500hp zed and is a tuned 500hp zed really a contender along side a car with 500hp out of the box in terms of reliability and drivability? If so it's gotta be the cheapest serious performance car on the market when you consider what any standard 500hp car will cost to buy.

  7. Been on other US and Australian z32 sites and seems to be recent developments in intercooler pipe sizes. See link for some impressive numbers on stock turbos. Apparently IC pipe dimension can have a big impact on power. Any body tried bigger (2.5") intercooler pipes (with bigger ICs too)? http://www.300zxclub.com/showthread.php?t=205330
  8. Went to look at a 300zx with view to using it as a parts car. Thought it was a TT but turned out to be NA. Was looking amongst other things to get exhaust back boxes, anyone know if they are te same between NA and TT. Read on US site that NA's are more restirctive as the turbo in a TT acts as a silencer therefore the back box doesn't have as much to do?
  9. Went to look at the silver zed in Lurgan, seemed quite good, great paint and mechanicals, mostly stock. A few small faults hurt it, perished passenger door window seal, perished scuttle panel on l.h.s, noise from fan in between t-bars, silly lowered ride (although set of standard shocks thrown in with the deal), silly after market exhaust. In a moment of insanity I have hatched a plan to buy silver zed http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/1990-nissan-300zx-for-sale-or-swap-for-jet-ski/1027529404 and also get http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/nissan-300zx-coupe-automatic/1026086756#photo-contentn for parts as I know this car has rust issues. If this did happen, anyone else in NI looking parts for their 300? I could sell off anything that was wanted and scrap the rest?
  10. Thanks for the offer, but as it turns out the car is actually in Lurgan and the owner is in Donegal at the minute. I will take a look maybe next weekend. I got the owner to send me a picture of the tailgate rust spot and it's pretty insignificant. Ultimately I'm looking for a bone stock well cared for manual TT with stock springs and exhaust, do you know of any for sale locally or that could be persuaded? I would pay a good price for a clean original manual TT as I think something clean and original has the best chance of holding it's money, values of modified TTs seems to be in freefall.
  11. Hello, can i get some opinions of the value for money of this car. It seems genuinely unmolested, colour is good. Cloth seats look a bit scruffy, would swap for full leather if purchased. Was in market for Manual but maybe this is a candidate for a conversion if it can be had cheap enough. So what price is fair? How much to factor in for manual conversion and cloth to leather swap?   13. Dunmurry. Been looking for a clean standard zed for over a year, missed a few nice ones and seen plenty of terrible ones. Any ideas where there are any decent local cars?
