I used one on my old vette, from a distance it looked ok but up close it was crap! But to be fair i only went over it once, if you were to build up a few layers then use something like g3 compound to polish it back you would probably be in business. As i say, mine only looked crap because i was lazy.
  4. Well folks!!!! That was a laborious task of explaining lol. The bovs i have are on the hard pipes and the old recircs were left in place down under the air filter. So today i removed them and have now put a kiwi boot polish lid filled with fibreglass resin and hardener to blank of the intercooler side of the pipes! They work a treat! As for the pipes attached to the air filter pipe they have been blanked with a 22mm brass end cap from b&q. The original Recirc connections are going to be cut off and welded up for a proper fix. Before the removal the car goosehonked a goodun, now no sound at all. Thanks for the laugh any way
  5. exactly lol. but i just needed to know if using the bottle caps would be ok lol
  6. because there will still be airflow going to the recirc valves. I have read a few posts which describes a noise which i am getting with mine and that has been asociated to the recircs. so seeing as i have the dump valves the recircs are going.
  7. when i bought the car it had bov's and the recircs both connected. I have since just run the boost line to the bov's and left the recircs in place, but the recircs are leaking... so i am now doing what should have been done when the bov's were installed Maybe a bad thread title, the recircs are being removed but the pipes are beiong blocked,
  8. because they have those demon things called dump valves above em ... and they are leaking lol
  9. Hi all, As above, i am doing this today, I have found some plastic bottle caps that will plug the holes nicely on the intercooler side, ( the ones on the air intake are done ) Would they be ok if i was to then fill em with fibre glass resin to make them hard and sturdy?? The open end would be facing out so no contaminant would get in.
  10. its not black mesh... It basically looks like chicken wire in the flesh lol... but it will be getting swapped for proper black stuff
  11. Mine has the aero bomex kit also, albeit with some veilside skirts which i want to swap for some of car mads smooth jobbies. It also has some different light on the rear... With nissan stamped on the lenses. Any ideas?
  12. Iv'e got a custom made powerflow exhaust on mine and i couldn't be happier, its a very nice sound without being completely mental
  13. Hi all, me and my mechanic friend had a mooch around the car and could not find any issues. The prob centre bearing is not dead. There is a small amount of play but there obviousley has to be some. The diff end is fine and the wheel bearings are fine.... Could it possibly be the thrust bearing? just vibrating at a certain rpm? could i get a long nose grease gun up through the clutch fork hole and try to grease it?
  14. I do remember that when we put the gearbox back in that 1 out of the 6 bolts that go in the support at the back of the box didnt go in because the thread was stripped.... any chance that the others could be takingup too muc strain and therefor coming loose? I doubt it, seing as all the others were bloody tight.... just thrying to think of everything thats possible.
  15. that rev range is around that speed in the higher gears so its a possibility??? would i check it the way i described above ??
