Turbo starting to smoke
Fitted new turbo`s less than a year ago now and they`ve started smoking.... been reading up on what could be wrong and questioning wether I`m getting too much oil to the turbo`s. It only smokes when it gets warm/hot and can be different from day to day. I put T25/28 on and fed them with braided houses complete with new banjos....now the only thing I can come up with is the size of the hole feeding oil through new banjo is bigger than the old one????? I`ve read quite a few articles and can only put it down to too much oil feed to the turbo......oil pressure is massive on the engine build. Any one had any similar problems???

New MOT certificate...not
The new Mot paper work is to say the least embarrasing when passing it to customers! We seem to apologise?? I`ve started to use a green and red pen when signing just so we can distinguish between them in the office!

new arrival and suprises at the dyno
hi, jack again, there is allot of threads about meets other than jae and what would be good is if we got a couple of us together and had a dyno then a blast on a track, obviously they would have to be near each other but would be good to see what people have got and then show it on the track. just my opinion:thumbup:

new arrival and suprises at the dyno
I`ve questioned the gear, it reads 4th on the sheet but now I`ve listened and watched the video it does sound like it was in 3rd. And yes I`ve quastioned whp to fwhp.... I can only summise that it was jumping around so much at higher rpm that it still achieved similar whp although fwhp was down??? Think Torque was still rising in run 2 compared to falling in run 1???

new arrival and suprises at the dyno
I`ll have to pick your brains Andy on your fuel setup, and if any of you guys have any suggestions that would be great. Question one: can I get rid of the fuel dampner and just feed the fuel rail from both sides, this would obviously be using a rising rate reg.

new arrival and suprises at the dyno
Engine as per my other thread, 87.5 Ross pistons, total seal rings, acl race bearings, standard rods and believe it or not standard injectors. T25/28 tubs, divorced down pipes, fmic. As the graphs show the boost is in to next week at nearly 2 bar / 28 psi,... I set the actuators at 14 psi with pump and gauge, but the guy from the rolling put me right explaining that the psi you set at comes out alot higher in operation (28psi)... he suggests to set at 9 psi and a boost controller to up the psi.... the reason for the kicking and fire spitting was down to the fuel been pushed back up into the injectors, so a possible tired fuel pump needs replacing / upgrading, a fuel pressure regulator and of course bigger injectors. I`m losing initial fuel pressure which in turn is slowing spool up time due slow pressure increase and of course reduced heat, which if I`ve read my info correct also has a bearing on spool up. I`m looking for a smoother and steeper curve to give me a quicker response and not just a wak in the back at 4500rpm... gets entertaining when it spins the wheels in 3rd at 80 mph.:w00t:

Who runs catch tanks?
I`m running my oil pipes to atmosphere at moment but do wonder wether a catch tank in a sealed system would increase the crank case pressure an equal the pressure out between the bottom and top of the piston, putting less strain on the rings???
