  1. Top banana. Thanks Jeff. I'll give you a bell and get those along with hopefully some other bits i've managed to break in the last hour!
  2. I have a knackered rear suspension bush on my 1990 TT LWB. It's where the bottom of the shock connects to the rear axel housing Credit goes to Jeff for the diagram which I have hijacked from another thread :ninja: Number '4' is pointing to the part that contains the bush Does anyone a. know what it's called b. know where I can get a couple?
  3. Doh, obvioulsy '1' is shown in the bottom pic!
  4. Not off a Z hence why I thought I'd post here. It's off a 92 peugeot 205 1.8 diesel. Done some research online and the consensus seems to be that the best way to test a coolant sensor is to measure the resistance with a multimeter. Video of soime chap doing it here: From what I can make out, I should be testing the resistance across the two pins on the back of the sensor. When I took the sensor out the car and did this I got no result, zip. Aha I thought it's bust! Bought a new one but that does the same  After poking around a bit I found I can get a measurement if I touch one of the pins and the brass casing. Does this sound right or are both my sensors bust? When my multimeter leads are not in contact with anything they show the same as the top pic e.g. '1' Pics of what I am doing here:
  5. anyone know the answer to this? I need the same info :)
  6. hmmn I 'only' have around 370 ft/lbs so I think a rebuilt oem would do the job. I just thought a brand new Tremec for 600 baz was quite attractive if it wasnt too much of a ball ache to adapt. Was hoping someone might say I could just gut the old box, throw the tremec bits in and top up with expanding foam. Never that ez tho is it :)
  7. gb is starting to suffer the ol knackered 4th sychro. these gearboxs seem to be fairly reasonable on fleabay and i hear they are strong. Any ideas on what would need to be done to wedge one in a zed?
  8. If I open the bonnet, stand 3 feet back and open up with a can of wd40 am i likely to sort this out? If by slim chance the repair mist doesn't work, where do i find this coil pack ye speak of? yes i have had a few beers :)
  9. When we had the mosoon the z started misfiring quiet bad, no smoke but no power. Felt like a cylinder had stopped werkin. Drove for a few miles and it started werkin again. drove for 20 miles a few days later, filled up and same thing, 2 miles later it sorted itself out. always seems to clear up after a few miles and rarley happens at all. feel it's getting a bit more frequent tho. any ideas?
  10. If there is water in the oil but possibly due to loose oil cap and alot of rain with the bonet up. would this give a false positive on a sniffer test. Don't know wether i can just get it tested without having to flush all the oil out?
  11. A meet you say, could do I spose since my beard trimmers bust atm :D What goes on at these meets? Is it donutting around tesco carpark followed by in depth discussions on the optimal recoil force on the door handles? I'm up past penair school, if you know much about powersteering or own an oil refinery then I think we should hook up :) ...I've recently got my Z back on the road due to my cherokee being so ridiculously uneconomical (10mpg). I've got some pwr steering issues tho. My friends could only look on in wonder when I re mot'd the Z for something economical to drive!
  12. whos got the sig with the motorcyclist going over the handlebars into the back of the truck? Just wanna show me mate...sorry for blatent misuse of the help and advice forum :o
  13. thats the one :) finally, an excuse to buy baby oil :D
  14. i dont want to lose anyone with my technical gab, but it's the lumpy top bits of the engine i'm talking about :)
