VH45DE - Just curious.
Thanks Yowser, I'll keep an eye out on eBay US for any that come up so I can gauge cost. I gather from ZClub.net that John spent a fair bit, it shows, the conversion looks and sounds great.

VH45DE - Just curious.
Hi, I know a couple of members were working on these transplants (Friday, JohnDixon). After watching a couple of John's videos on YouTube I was curious as to how much one of the afore mentioned engines cost and who imports them? Am interested to see whether it is feasible for me to even consider this (for a future project) or whether the costs would be too much. So, any info/links would be great. Many thanks. John

"Check" warning light - problems...
Hi Stuart, Thanks for your advice (2 1/2 years too late - I know!). The problem I had back then sorted itself after a period of the battery being disconnected. However, it's reared its ugly head again.... I've removed and cleaned the water temp sensor and connections, it seems to idle alot better now but the fan and check light still come on. I don't get the high-pitched buzzing now. When I ever-so-slightly touch the throttle the revs drop off but it doesn't stall, a bit more pressure brings the revs up as expected. Could this indicate an issue with the air/fuel mixture? I'd love to get this sorted for sure so a trip to the local garage might be on the cards, although I'd rather sort it myself. Thanks very much John

Connecting horn on aftermarket steering wheel
Hi, I've got a HICAS boss now, fits fine, only problem is I can't put the copper contact disc back on (the one that is fitted as standard). Therefore, I've only got one connection out of two from the back of the horn, the one that connects via a plug (which sits at 12 o'clock) into the HICAS unit. Any ideas how I can connect this other point up, I assume that it would be the earth to complete the circuit? I've checked out loads of threads but no-one else seems to have had this problem, perhaps I should take a drill and/or blade to the copper contact disc and make it fit behind the new steering wheel? Thanks in advance. John

Relocating battery (FAO Friday)
Thanks very much for that mate, I was looking at Thursbys site myself, good to hear they're recommended. Tell you what, seeing that engine is making me pretty tempted, think the cost will rein me in though!!! Cheers again, will give you a shout if I have questions.

Relocating battery (FAO Friday)
Oh yeah, I'm thinking of the Deta 900 (I think!) deep cycle, any opinions. What did you use?

Relocating battery (FAO Friday)
Hi Friday, Could you post your photos of your battery relocation and any notes you have which may help, did you have an emergency charge point or anything like that? Also, a few of your engine would go down a treat! Cheers fella, John

Very cheap to insure !
Thanks for the suggestions, i'll try them out. Had Adrian Flux come back with £530 for 3k miles, 8 years NCB, classic policy with a £500 excess! Is it possible to get something like a 6 month policy just to cover the rest of the year, any ideas? Cheers

Hi pk1, Which company did you go with for insurance? I too have a 1990 import although it's a 2+2 and I'm looking for a decent quote. Cheers

Xbox
Just got my replacement cable through today. They have built in something that looks like a RCD device inbetween the plug and socket. I assume the new xboxes will have this device built in, hence no need for a replacement cable. I thought that the warning wasn't limited to just those xboxes made in the last year but also to older boxes as well.

Which intercooler??
Hi All, I was wondering which type of intercooler you guys have used and can recommend. Is a swap from a Skyline worth while, would it be cost effective compared to a new aftemarket jobbie? I guess with the Skyline, custom pipes would have to be made up and possibly new mounting brackets. Has anyone any experience of this type of job? Thanks in advance John

Where can I get a decent priced standard pump from?

Fuel Pump
Hi, I'm needing to replace my fuel pump, are there any recommendations as to what I should go for? Are any of the after market pumps better than the standard Nissan job? My 300 is standard apart from a JWT ECU and Apexi Boost Controller so no major fuel needs I guess. Thanks for you advice. John

"Check" warning light - problems...
Hi, I don't get to use my 300 a great deal so tend to leave the negative cable off the battery terminal to stop the battery draining. I reconnected this so I could take the car out at the weekend but when I started the car up, the "Check" warning light stayed on, there was a high pitch buzzing from the rear of the car, the cooling fan came on straight away and it seemed to have trouble keeping the revs up sometimes stalling. I think the high pitch buzzing could be the fuel pump, is it likely it will need replacing? Any ideas what may be causing the other problems? Thanks in advance for your help. John
