Hi.. noise seems to have gone now... but i've now got a massive judder as i brake from speed.. say 20mph and up. braking at about 70/80 and the front end feels like it's gonna fall off! Work done so far.. Skimmed disc's New pads New shim kit New braided hoses Caliper overhaul kit(think that's what cured the creakin noise) Poly tension bushes New brake fluid Any sugestions greatfully recieved... not sure where to look next! Thanks in advance!

Spotted yeh this morning turning in by the bridge inn...i was in my van... i'm sure i've seen that number plate around before and for a number of years now... Have you had the car long?? Where do yeh travel in from?? Tony.

Turned into a big job this.... so far refurbished calipers,new pads, had disc's skimmed by little brother at earospace for nowt! Had to take .4 of a mil off either side, this should be ok should'nt it?? They look great now..only half the back pad was makin' contact on both sides.. changed hoses to braided.. and fitted extension studs while i could for future spacers.. not a nice job that! All goin' back together nicely and should be bleedin' and testin' on saturday.... Just hope this get's shut of noise!! I will let yeh's know... Cheers for ongoin' advice... amazin' wot you can do with the help of this forum and yeh dad's tools!!!!

Hi Creakin' not stopped!! gutted!! It does'nt do it in reverse and it does'nt do it when i first drive of cold... But when it starts it's loud and it goes through ya! It's consistant with the speed i'm doing.... as i slow down the noise slows down.... and a i can feel it in my brake pedal at the same time... the pedal seems to push back as the creak occurs... When i park it up in the garage just by puttin presure on an off the brake pedal when in drive i can hear the creak but no were near as bad as when i'm slowing down?? This is only on the passenger side btw. Thanks for takin' the time to look any idea's gratefully recieved.

Hi Any advice on how to get these buggers into the arm... i'm using grease and a vice at the mo and gettin' no where!! They're the ones from the z centre.

just a quick one... got a creaking and brake judder at low speed under braking and i suspect it's my tension rod bushes... just looked at them and the one making the noise is covered in what i would call grease... Is that a good sign it's split!?... knackered!?... or are they greased up when fitted?? I'm guesing they should be dry?? Got some poly ones on order.... much of a job to change???

Hi, I'm told i need a new ptu, from what i've read the only way to go is to get the series II on. There's one forsale on the forum, is that the kind of price i should be paying for one? (£100 used i think). How much are they to buy new?, i've read you can't get them in this country? Any pointers??? Thanks, Tony.

Thanks chaps, my mech say's he's checked all the connections on the injector's aswell. It does'nt sound like it's a ecu problem then? He recons he knows someone with a spare ptu, i'll get him to try that out and see what happens....i'll be intouch.

My mech is runnin' out of idea's can anyone help? He's trying to find why my j90'tt is missing at one of the cillinders(2 i think) he's checked all connections at the coil packs and tried swapping them over, he's continuity checked the wiring back to the ptu and checked the ptu connections. He tells me he's not gettin' any signal to spark at the coil pack and he does'nt think the spark plug looks wet when he pulls it out. He's checked all the various connections everywhere inc back the ptu, do you think the ptu may have broken down on that one signal?, does that happen? Someones advised him it could be the ecu, i think he may have that in pieces now, is he lookin' in the right direction? Any ideas or advice would be gratefully welcome.

If i were you dave i would just sign & pay mate. I was working away from home 2yrs ago and without knowing got my photo took in a works van on motorway road works(65 in a 50!). By the time i'd got back from working away the time limit to pay the fine was up. I sent a cheque anyway thinking a couple of days wouldn't make a difference and the bostards sent me the cheque back and said it would now have to go to court. I didn't go to court, i just wrote a letter saying why my payment was late and that a couldn't travel accross the country to be in court. Pretty reasonable i thought!!!! The fooking bostards ended up fining me and charging me court costs!!!!! I got 4 points (not 3) and £160 fine (not £60)!!!!!!!!! GET IT PAID SON!!!!!
