  2. Must be a record...105 posts in 6 years!! will try to get on here more often.. hard to find the time.. that's why the car was parked up with nowt wrong with it for 2 weeks!! lol
  3. Just a few words from a very seldom visiter to this forum... Spring comes... tax zed and get it out of garage... glass out an off we go! Then it starts stalling! how embaresing... don't think it has ever stalled in the 10 years i have owned it. So back in the garage for 2 weeks till i found the time to once again renew my membership and search the forum for the solution...fearing more expense! £15 paid... qiuck search... bit of tlc on my temp sensor and sorted!! Too think last week i went to anglesea with the family in her astra!! The point i'm trying to make, and i did say just a few words.... WOT A FANTASTIC FORUM THIS IS!! AND ALL THOSE INVOLVED AND ALL MEMBERS THAT TAKE THE TIME TO INPUT THERE KNOWLEDGE INTO IT... MASIVE RESPECT!!:clap::thumbup: Must be due on! gettin' emotional!! Felt it had to be said. Prob speak again in another 6 months..
  4. I've had the same thing on mine.. it's defo electrical..sounds like a relay chattering somewhere under the centre of the car near the zorst... mine just cleared it's self tho... sorry!
  5. Yeh i've cleaned mine and no change Stu... I've got a replacement ready too... i've heard they can be a bit of a swine to get out! Any tips on tools etc would help... Let us know how yeh get on doin' yours. Tony
  6. Wise words my friend!! That's exactly wot i'll do.... i've got another 02 sensor here bought of andy 300z on e-bay..... if i plug that in to the one not working but not fitted would it act like it's working and signal the ecu like it would if it was fitted?? If ya know wot i mean??
  7. Same here... good to meet everyone! Thanks for the place on the stand.... really enjoyed it... sorry i left early to watch the footy now!!! see again at the next one! Tony
  8. Had similar symptoms myself recently.. i took my maf off tried somebody elses and it ran like a dream.. then smithy sugested cleaning mine.. so i blasted it through the mesh with brake cleaner... sound as a pound now!! Worth a try imho! Tony
  9. Evening all... When i did a quick basic ecu check on the zed followin this link http://www.ttzd.com/tech/diagnostictech.html started the engine so that it's monitoring the left sensor..got no sigals.. switched it to right an got signal.. taking it that left is knackered... Question is.. is the left passenger or driver side?? prob a daft one but don't want to do the job twice! Tony
  10. Took the MAF off at my cusin's garage and blasted it with break cleaner...worked a treat... when i drove the car after it felt just like it did when i had ck300z's MAF in it...power back and no hesitance!! (replacement on the way anyway Whilst at cusin's garage he explained to me that when he originaly put the cambelt on for me he did set it a cog out an the car turned over poorly so he re-did it and assures me it's cock on!! So i've set my ignition timing on the gun to 15 degrees and i'm gonna leave it like that as it's not to off centre on the CAS bolt slots. The CAT light is still coming on but not as much... seems to come on as soon as i start up cold and then flicker on/off when the engine has warmed up...usualy under heavy acceleration... i'm putting this down to one off my O2 sensors not showing up on the basic ecu check i carried out. Gonna order a replacement soon as. The car is so much better to drive now.. smooth gear changes...no hesitance...and pulls again!! Thanks to alll for advice  Glad you got sorted at Jeff's Sean...think i will book myself in there at sometime...i'll try and do it more at my liesure if ya know what i mean. let ya know how it is with new O2 sens and new MAF. PS much of a job to change O2 sens?????????
  11. No offence taken!! lol my air filter's are standard and really been a long time since they were changed. They look a little grubby!!
  12. No i did'nt mate........ i'll have a look again tomora..... carb cleaner?? motor world/halfords??
  13. Swopped the MAF this evening.... (thank you Chris 300ck) Did make the car feel better.... hesitation gone! power back!! CAT light still came on but not as often or bright and only when bootin'... This could be down to one of my O2 sensors tho eh?? Seems like the combination of the two could of been causin' all my probs... hope so anyway!! When i swopped back to my old MAF and drove home i it's hard to feel any difference in the power but the car was definately runnin worse... Is it typical of this fault to be intermitant?? Come an go n that?? Defo gettin a new MAF anyhow!
  14. Done the ECU test today and got code 55 which i read to mean all clear.. Then did the O2 sensor test and only got a flashing light when i switched it over to test the right hand one! What does this tell me??? and could it be a cause of my probs???
  15. That is tip top advice smithy...thanks alot.. i think an afternoon off and a trip to zedworld will sort it once and for all.. I can't help thinkin that me belt is out... would a compresion test tell me it's out?
