There is a forum specifically for the mk3, I used to be on there when i had one of those cars and they saved me a hell of a lot of time and money with the advise i got. I never had the problem your getting so wouldnt know what to suggest but I would deffo have another one of those motors if i could find a decent one, nicest car ive owned to drive and thats including the z!!

Hi folks, need a bit of advise if you could. I just got a new runaround motor and have a couple of questions. Firstly it needs some oil, its a skoda fabia 1.4 petrol, ive got some 10w/40 oil hanging around would that do?? Also it has a scuff that i would like to tidy up but i cant find the paint code, ive looked in the engine bay but cant find the plate with the code on, any ideas?? Thanks

Top geezers, thanks for the quick response. I had a car that had that problem mikey b, that car was left in some pretty rediculous places till the morning i can tell you! I think we have a winner, jeffs suggestion of the not being in park may have been the one. (Yep whose a muppett:nelson:??)Thanks jeff, got in lost the plot and with a bit of cursing and wigglling of the gear lever it decided to play again.:D I was propper pi^^ed off for a while there, i had litterly driven it from the garage where i just forked out on 4 new tyres!!
