  1. Hi all, My friend needs help with his new zed. Firstly it has been modified and this includes dump valves and the egr removed. The car needed the head gaskets changed thus all the vacum pipes need connecting but the manual we have resembles a plate of spagetti!! Can anyone pls advise? Also what changes as a result of the egr removal? Thanks
  2. not a bad time to expect. I want to get mine up there this year but mine needs bits doing first so i'll see how that goes. Was you up against anything interesting?
  3. No worries, How was pod, Did you run it up there? I was just down my workshop so nothing that interesting for me. Love the car, just saw you pictures. Id like to do a wide kit at some stage myself. It does look like alots been done.
  4. I saw an awsome blue zed with what had to be 19" wheels, 19" wide on the back, high top spoiler, twin rear lights... I passed it on the m25 between j27-28 clockwise, it passed me again in the rain and pulled in and there was so much water coming off those monster wheels i had to pull out again. :) Great car! I was in my white zed Anyone on here???
  5. I am an ameture sprayer and i'm just in the process of painting a p100. I have a 50l hoddy compressor which cant really keep up so when I painted it I did a panel at a time and had to wait for it to charge with air. You'll need a big compressor to paint properly. I spent approx £500 on equipment and read about half a dozen books prior to practicing it. The biggest problem to overcome is getting that ULTRA smooth surface as well as mastering the process and also knowing the paint. Paint suppliers are good with the knowledge on that so call them, listern good and write notes! Reading this thread i'd not take offense of the advise given at all. I kinda seems off putting even though its not meant that way. I think if you do have time on your hands and you are genuinly interested in paint start small on bumpers etc in a garage and read/practice until you get a good job. It will take time. you need to get some kind of extraction going too but there is more to learn than is contained here and there's no quick way. You'll possibly spend more/as much as a blow over cost in practice. Good luck
  6. Hi fellow Zed oricales everywhere, Can anyone help me with 2 problems. 1, Where's the fusebox that fuses the radio/cd, cigarette lighter, cruise control... 15. Hi, Dont think my last post went up. Yes I closer than that around 16 miles. I have noticed if there's alot of people or not? It would be good to meet up with like minded entusiasts once i have some of the wrinkles ironed out of it. I am enjoying it despite the fore mentioned
  16. does that mean there's not many or loads? Yes I think I'm closer to you than that. I'd like to meet up with a like minded group of enthuisasts if that happens around these parts
  17. Yeah, cheers Coopers-SWB. I might have someone on hand to do a rebuild if I can save up for it. I'm loving all the zeds going up on here btw Siquo, I'm near Lakeside, You?
  18. Well just an update really. I put w50 syn in itand noticed an imediate difference, more freer reving an responsive. I ran it around for 2 weeks mostly driving calm and last night took it for a burn. Its now sounding very tappy and theres a knocking noise under neath on the near side coming from the sump. Id say its big ends. On reading the buying guide i'd conclude there's a few symptoms that tell me i brought a bit of a crock, I'd also say the previous owner knows this too which is a shame because i try to treat people how i expect to be treated. Does anyone have any advice on buying/repairing a z32 engine?
  19. I love the front bumper (and the whole car don't get me wrong)! What type is it mate?
  20. Big help people thanks. I dont know what viscosity is in it but it is said to be gtx magnetec. I was wondering whether to use 10/50 or 15/50 as the manual gives me a big range in the warmer months?
  21. OK thanks, Does slick 50 ruin the turbos? I've heard that engine flush does the same? Does anyone know a good way to flush the oil system out & where the oil breathers are located?
  22. Hi, I'm new to this thread and new to owning a 300zx. I just brought mine yeasterday and drove it home some 35 miles. When I was half mile from home the car sounded like a lifter was shot and needed replacing. I checked the oil and it was about 80% between L-H. It has also had some kinda change as the oil is faily clean sort of semi black. I topped it up and thought i'd need to change a lifter. The next day i tried th car and it sounded very quiet again as it was when I brought it. Now I'm wondering if it's having breather problems and i'm planning a change/ clean up of the system. Also the oil pressure starts at 60ish psi and once warm drops to 30psi and under from low to moderate revs. Does anyone know what might be the problem Also can anyone tell me if I can use slick 50 in a turbo car. I don't intend to use an engine flush as this isn't meant to be good for the turbos as far as I've heard. I would greatly appreciate any sound advice? Thanks 300zx tt
